Ecobee got it better

Ecobee understands the common energy plans and adjusts automatically. Nest doesn't. Ecobee can adjust fan intervals of 5m. Nest's smallest is 15m. Ecobee sensors can be scheduled however you would like. Nest has only 3 pre set schedules for sensors. Ecobee has an away from home mode which relaxes the thermostat interval. Nest doesn't, you have to manually widen it or turn off your thermostat. Ecobee is considerably cheaper.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wouldn’t get a Nest without sensors. They are a game changer. We put them in the cold spots of our house and with a bit more manipulation of our system the house is much more comfortable.

Great Product

The Nest Learning Thermostat is a great product. It really does learn fairly quickly how the temperature ought to be set. After setting it a couple of times to what I wanted the temp to be during the day, I was able to quit because it had learned the process. I really do like that I can control the temp from anywhere with me iPhone and inside my condo by having Alexa set it to where I want it.

LOVE!

How did I live without this? I work 12 hour shifts and being able to control the temperature from my phone has been great! In the winter I can turn up the heat before I leave work and walk into a warm home. Love this!

Nest Thermostat

Great product, hope it lasts! Works better then expected, love the sensors for remote locations. Just installed and already noticing a difference, more comfortable, consistant temperatures. Installation was so easy.

Changing seasons

Seeing the nest I thought it was a good idea. I never realized that it would revolutionize the whole heating and cooling industry. To call it a thermostat is not justified. It actually changed the way I use my house systems. Thank you.

For our system the instructions made the cooling settings blow heat and vice versa. This was corrected by swapping a couple wires W1 and Y1. That corrected the reversed behavior but would no longer engage the compressor to cool the air. The swapped wires had to be reverted, one of them moved to OB and blue disconnected completely. Finished with Y1 Yellow, G Green, OB Orange, W2 Brown, Rh Red.
