I am very pleased with my Nest Learning Thermostat. It is very easy to install and use. I love that I can adjust the temperature from my phone on my way home so my house is nice and comfy when I arrive. It has also lowered my energy usage which saves me money and is good for the planet.

Nest worked right out of the box and has been saving us money ever since. How fun to stop for dinner a hundred miles from home and set Nest to bring the temperature to our usual setting. We love this appliance!

Not amenable to multiple users

Works great, unless you want to link more than one users moblie device. Supposedly that's possible, but not well documented how to do it and requires multiple, disjointed, sequential steps across both devices.

Hi caranalogy, thanks for giving us your feedback on Nest Learning Thermostat. We’re glad that it works great, but are sorry to hear of your difficulty with linking more than one user’s mobile device. We appreciate your input as it will help us improve our products and services, including our help sites.

If you have multiple people in your non-migrated Nest household who need access to your Nest devices, create a Family account and have them use their own password and email. Remind them to sign up for 2-step verification. Do not share your personal credentials with anyone, even family members. Sharing an account email and password is not only unsecure, it can cause your Google Nest products to not switch their behavior as normally expected.

You can invite your friends and family to share access to your home. Each person will be able to sign in with their own account and use the Nest app on their phone to view and use the Nest products in your home. With Family accounts, you can let other people share access to your home and your Nest products in the Nest app. Depending on the level of shared access you choose, people you invite can add, remove, and control Nest products in the Nest app. Check out this link to learn more: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9304271

Great upgrade

I bought my Nest thermostat to upgrade from a standard old thermostat. Installation was very easy, and it looks great on the wall. I like the learning feature, where it can figure out what temperature to set your house at to save money. It is working great, and I'm glad I bought it.

Low Battery Issues
on June 10, 2021
Posted by: Marc
I’ve owned the Nest Learning Thermostat for around 4 years. No C-wire since the day I installed it. Suddenly 4 years later it will no longer maintain a charge. I have to take it off of the wall and charge it with a USB cable. So I go and buy another Nest Learning Thermostat thinking that would solve the problem. Nope. New unit also has a low battery warning. I called technical support and spent 45 minutes making no progress on the issue. Is it WiFi related? Did Google push a faulty software update? No idea. Nothing has changed on my end and now I own 2 Nest Learning Thermostats with the exact same low battery issue. So now I’m crawling around the basement trying to figure out if there is any way to run a C wire. Without that, the Nest Learning Thermostat will not communicate with the Nest app nor will the display work. Pretty strange that there were never any problems with the thermostat for 4 years. That’s my hint for the engineers and developers over at Google.

Revolutionary

That’s a strong word, but the Nest thermostat has changed everything for us. We have a noticeable drop in our energy use and the house is more comfortable when we are there. It’s a win/win. I think we will have our Nest paid for by energy savings within 6 months easily.
