Nest Learning Thermostat review

I bought (3) Nest Learning Thermostats a year and a half ago for the convenience of wireless . Very disappointed with Nest to control the temperature. The Nests will not hold a constant temperature. They let temperature rise 2-3 degrees above setpoint before turning off (disabled all the eco features) and they will cool and overshoot if humidity control is on. I found on the Nest site that this is expected behavior - energy savings? I have (3) Trane 19 SEER units and the Nest also does not want to use 2nd stage unless I turn the Nest down 3-4 degrees below current temp. If I drop temp 2 degrees, I get msg that it will take 2 hours to reach it. I turn temp down 4 degrees to get 2nd stage to speed up. No setpoint for humidity. Thinking to go back to non-wireless Honeywell that came with Trane and never varied more than 1 deg from setpoint and they have humidity setpoint as well. Wireless on one Nest just died and I am going to send it for warranty. Too big of temp swings!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In most cases, it’s normal for your home’s temperature to vary slightly above or below the temperature set on your thermostat for a short while. There are systems that may continue to heat or cool for a while after they’ve been turned off and some systems may continue to run the fan to circulate the air that’s left in your ducts. This can cause the temperature to change slightly even after your thermostat stops and cause the temperature in your home to slightly exceed the maintenance band.
There are a number of other reasons why your heating and cooling system might be doing something unexpected and we’d like to see how we can further help. We may also need to have a closer look into the wireless issue of your other thermostat. So Easy to use

I love being able to have Nest help me save money automatically. I like being able to ask Google Home or Alexa to change my thermostat or open the app and control the thermostat from my phone.

Easy to use!

I was skeptical at first but 4 months in use and I find the Nest device and their mobile app are super easy to use and provide a ton of capability in controlling thermostat settings while at home or away. Very needed in a Texas climate!

Was looking to add a smart thermostat and after much research I felt the Nest thermostat was the way to. I'm a little apprehensive when it comes to installing electrical equipment, but the installation instructions provided in the app are OUTSTANDING!! It made installation a breeze, I was able to install two thermostats in about 40 min. The most well written set of instructions I've encountered.
