I am electronically challenged in setting up new devices. One view of the installation and iPhone adapting made it easy to put in the thermostat and the app on my phone.

Awesome product, Little documentation!

I've been wanting one for quite a while now. I was originally going to purchase the E version, but with all the Black Friday deals, the Learning version was available for about the same price. The first thing I noticed when it showed up is what a premium look and feel the device has. It was quite a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but it gives it a more solid feel. But no documentation..

Love my Nest thermostat! I especially like the ease of programming and how your can link you phone so that Nest knows when you are out of the house. I have noticed a strong impact on my electric bill due to this feature. If you are planning to sell your home, the Nest thermostat paired with a smart doorbell will impress prospective buyers.
Tip: After you download the app, be sure to link your phone or you will not be able to control the temperature while you are away.

Poor battery performance

The battery in my 4-year-old Nest Learning thermostat failed and I was required to purchase an entirely new thermostat. Not happy... The battery replacement was not consumer-friendly. I believe that Google should reevaluate the design of these units to permit a simple battery exchange. This, unfortunately, would result in fewer thermostat sales for Google but would benefit the consumer and the environment. It's up to Google to do the right thing until legislation is passed requiring manufacturers to produce consumer repairable products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sleek and user friendly

I have never worked with thermostats other hvac wiring/setups before, but after reading through online instructions and using the app instructions, I easily installed this unit without any troubles. Very easy to use and attractive on wall.

This thing is amazing I work 1Hr and 10 minutes away and I turn it on half way home and when I get there the room temperature is great I'M IN LOVE!!!!!
