Nest thermostat

The Nest learned our habits and figured out our heating systems heat patterns very quickly. The house is so much more comfortable The furnace use to go on and off so often. Not anymore.. love it . Highly recommend

The future has arrived.

The nest thermostat is polarizing. It has ushered in a thermostat revolution to a segment no one thought needed revolutionizing. I love my nest thermostat. I have been living with a Nest thermostat for about 2 months now. I do really like that I can take a quick glance at my smartphone to check the temperature and adjust if needed. This is also quite helpful if you leave town and forget to adjust your thermostat accordingly. You can change and monitor your home temperature anywhere with a smartphone. It has adjusted to our patterns and rarely needs adjustment. You can just set your temperature preference and forget about it if you want to.
I however, am way too interested in information to not mess with it. I enjoy the monthly email reports Nest sends. It is nice to track your energy usage over the course of a year. I also really enjoy the weather forecast on the display. I have set up my nest display to show the weather. When I pass by I get a snap shot of the next day's forcast. I find myself looking forward to this useful info every evening.
The integration with smart speakers is great too. If you are feeling cold/hot, you can just ask your speaker of choice to remedy that. These devices working together really feels like the sci-fi future we were promised is beginning to take shape.

Nest worked right out of the box and has been saving us money ever since. How fun to stop for dinner a hundred miles from home and set Nest to bring the temperature to our usual setting. We love this appliance!
