Using it in a commercial building

I manage several commercial buildings, some over 100,000 square feet with million dollar energy management systems. Then I have this simple 4 story building with one air handler per floor. I put a nest in and bingo remote instant control of the air handler for that floor. I am not always at the building so remote monitoring a must as well ability to lock out t-stat to tenants changing it. Nest gave me that. Only issue was installation. The transformer for my air handler was very old and sending varied power signals. The Nest could not handle that and would not work. Once I put the new transformer on (which needed to be done regardless) it worked like a champ.

Remote control house!

I love smart home tech, this is one of the key features. Have your house warm up before you get there. Sudden change of plans? Oh well, I’ll just turn the heat off since I won’t be home for hours. Saves money and makes life easier and more comfortable. This is what we want out of technology. And it’s solid, well made, and most of all looks great!

Easy to use pleasing to the eye and it learns your habits the home and away feature is welcome and the money it saves is s welcomes addition for the uofront cost

Does not suck

Got the Nest as a signing bonus with my solar panels. It's been pretty cool to have. I really like controlling the house temp with my phone and the temperature accuracy is better than my previous system.

cool product - easy instal

this was simple to instal for a novice and easy to connect to WiFi and app. App is a great feature. appearance is much nicer on wall than old programmable. so far it's worth the money spent. hasn't been installed long enough to see how much I'll truly save though. from all the features it should pay for itself soon

I was expecting the wiring to be a challenge, but the Nest instructions were so simple to follow despite there being six different connections to be made. They even include labels so you don't forget which wire goes to which pin. I also absolutely love the fact that I can remotely change the temperature of my home. Sit on the couch while watching TV and adjust the temp - check. Adjust to Eco mode while at the store - check. Track energy savings - check. Absolutely love the circular dial. Beautifully designed product - I recommend everyone to make the investment. It will pay itself off in a year or so with the energy savings.
