I have had my nest thermostat for about 3 months and I am actually beyond pleased with it. It has been a very smart investment as it has worked even better than I expected.

Makes my home look fancier than it is

I rent a fairly mediocre home in a very mediocre neighborhood. Sometimes you just do the best you can with what you have. In the spirit of my love for technology & an effort to reduce my carbon footprint and live as economically as possible, I decided to swap in a Nest Thermostat to take the place of my existing thermostat. The instructions included with the thermostat made the installation process super easy. Once installed, setup was a breeze, as well as integrating it to my Nest app where I already had a Nest outdoor cam set up. The interface is intuitive and works well. I like the clean design of the hardware, too. It looks great in my hallway and makes me feel like I'm keeping up with the digital age in style.

Great upgrade!

Our home had the original thermostat. It wasn't digital, you couldn't program it, and it was very difficult to tell what the temperature was actually set on. We purchased the Nest to upgrade our thermostat and what a change it has made! Now we can actually see the temperature and we can program it! It's so sleek and pretty! I love it!

Very easy to install, sleek and simple to use!

I had an antiquated thermostat installed when the house was built some time in the 1990s. I was skeptical that the nest would even work, let alone be a simple install. It took us minutes. From heat shut off to app install was less than 20 minutes. We were asked to set an "eco" temperature, if we liked, as an option to save power and money, by lowering the temp in our home when we were away.
The Nest thermostat is intuitive and easy to use. Every time we walked toward it, it lit up to show us the temperature. It learned our patterns and began to predict our needs. We integrated it with our Echo Dot and our August locks.
Now when we leave the home, our Nest asks if we would like to set the home to our preset Eco temperature, saving us money on our energy bills.
Both myself and my husband are able to control the thermostat from our phones. We can warm the home before we arrive. We use this in our rental home to make sure that when vacationers leave, we aren't heating an empty house.
I can't wait to install other Nest items!

Comfort, control, and style

After much discussing (old thermostat worked fine per DH) - we agreed to purchase Nest. He was out of town when it arrived and I had it installed, linked to our network, and my phone in about a half hour. It learns quickly and now adjusts the temperature according to our schedule. The display is so much easier to see and it looks very nice in the room (far better than the aging, yellowing, large thermostat we had). I'm still learning all it's features, but I am very pleased with the performance.

Great Management and Fun

The Nest thermometer is easy to use after some brief initial acclimation. For a few issues, the online Q & A gave me clear, comprehensive answers and instructions. It is fun to have the thermostat learn some of our preferences and make adjustments for us. The app makes monitoring our heating and air conditioning a bit of a game, and practical because we can do it anywhere using the app.

Best solution for guests

I moved my thermostat into my Airbnb guest suite and replaced it with a Nest. Now the guests can control the entire house's temperature, and then when they're out, I can control it via Wifi without going into their space. Also great even when I don't have guests, so I can set the temp when I'm on my way home. A great product, elegant and easy to use.
