The Best Personal-Size Travel Backpack

I bought this as a last second backpack to tour South America with my Jansport hiking bag. It's one of the best backpacks I've ever owned in the sub-$100 range. It's incredibly well thought out and has taken a pounding over the last year and a half (15+ flights using as a day pack, makeshift camera bag, and weekender) without any damage. Unlike other bags, it wears very nicely as a front facing backpack if you're carrying a hiking bag as primary luggage. Positives: 1) The black design and finish is quality and strong 2) Grab straps at every edge 3) The zipper pulls are rubberized 4) Bottom of the bag is a different fabric that seems to be water repellant, not exactly water resistant and definitely not waterproof (Don't leave your bag on the wet ground for too long!) 5) Large enough to be useable for a 3 day weekend trip and fits as a "personal" bag for flights on United, American, and Spirit (the luggage size-whiners). 6) Interior is very organized Negatives: 1) Isolated padding for back -- When I was carrying this bag as a daypack, I'd get a little sweaty because there isn't much airflow. 2) The laptop padding could have more padding, but users should pack an additional sleeve for laptop 3) Can't do 17-inch laptops 4) No side drink bottle holders Personally, I feel that Samsonite should continue with the Switchback as it's a winner. Do not drop the Outlab line as it's clean for business professional and versatile for every-day usage. Maybe on the Switchback V2 or a higher level bag, add some back padding, an elastic chest strap, a drink holder, a water resistant build and Samsonite has knocked out the North Face/Thule bags.
