[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had the microwave/convection combo for a few weeks now and really love it. It did take a little adjusting to the new configuration, overall we’re very satisfied. All ovens are unique as my old oven tended to run cool. This one tends to run a little hotter, so small adjustments in temp we’re made. Would definitely buy this again!

I think this must have to do with the contractor or sub-contractor who obtains the units. I have had new appliances from a number of brands. Whirlpool is not a "bad" brand, but all are highly dependent upon the contractor(s) doing the install. The cabinetry space, the electrical, the storage and treatment of the units prior to install, the actual install, the amount of dust and debris if remodel or new construction will all have an impact. Plus, this does not account for random occurrences that are beyond the norm. Rodents, reptiles, insects, etc.... Depending on what market/geo you live in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
