In the monitor output, should an active or passive speaker be connected?

Great sound, few limitations

I first bought one unit for my duo. After 6 months I purchased a second one for larger venues. Very pleased with the overall sound and portability. Crisp highs, good mids and outstanding bass. We have used many combinations but recently in a small venue we tried running acoustic guitar, drum machine, 2 mics and a bass thru by way of a mixer. Overall it worked well, just be careful to not push the bass too hard.Good balance for all inputs. even better when two units are used. Only criticisms are the piece of the column can be hard to seat and unseat. I really wish the built in mixer had at least 4 channels like channel 1 and 2. Then we could eliminate the separate mixer used. also, the blue tooth works very well. Very satisfied overall.

JBL EON ONE

Although the ION is just 250w if you have carpeting and a unused corner to help magnify the rich sound coming from this set it sounds like a 500w system...... I love it... It satisfies my desire to hear my music loud... The ION unit does a very good job at covering your highs, mids, lows but if your looking for more bass you’ll want to add a sub for a full spectrum listening experience....

I just bout a pair of the eon one. I still have my JBL EONS G2 and JBL JRX 118 Powered Subs which have been great for years. The EON ONE'S are a total upgrade making gigs easier. Well worth the buy. I finally replaced my old system.

I bought a single EON ONE for my one man band show. I use a Korg Triton keyboard running full band backing tracks into channel 2, my vocal mics into channel 1 via a rack mixer that also has compression and delay, and my electric and acoustic guitars plug into channels 3 and 4. I also use a theremin which I connect through the vocal mixer. I used the system for a gig last wednesday and the sound was perfect. I even left my monitor speaker at home since somehow the EON One shoots enough sound out the side that I can hear it while I'm playing. I also play with an acoustic duo and I used the system for a gig last saturday night and we never sounded so good. I was very impressed with the first EON ONE so I bought another one so I can use them both in larger rooms. Definitely the best piece of sound equipment I've ever bought in my 40 years of playing live. Thanks you.

Poor Microphone Volume

I bought this for karaoke gatherings. I first tried playing music on my cellphone by bluetooth, and often there are breaks in the music. But OK with the RCA connector. Next I plugged in my Shure SM58. The microphone volume is poor, not even to fill my living room. So I plugged the SM58 into my Mackie Mixer and connected that to the RCA input of the Eon One. Sounded fabulous: superb sound quality and fidelity. But hey, I wanted this to be freestanding without a mixer to go along! So no, this has not been designed right, and the microphone preamps are poor.

Bluetooth: Please try forgetting the EON ONE on your device. The reboot your device and reconnect to the EON ONE. This should fix your problem.

Mic Preamp: There is a mic/line button just below the volume control on the channel strip. Make sure that button is pressed in, engaging the mic level preamp. Set the master volume all the way down. Now turn the mic volume up to the 2 o'clock position, and then turn up the master volume to your desired level. Now turn the volume on your Karaoke device to match the volume of your mic. You should get more than enough level out of your SM58 without the need of an external mixer.

I got this in 10 days ago and put it to its paces, my findings overall are good for the most part. I feel the structure is not as I'd expect of a pro style equip, very plastic and the arrays and extensions are so very hard to separate as the plastic material is such perhaps over time they may loosen up , im just hoping that it won't mess up the connections having to pry it open.certainly there are some missing elements like perhaps an xlr line out, not sure how they call it a 6channel mixer perhaps because of the left and right RCA inputs or the 1/4 inputs but I'm not sure u can use them both together the rca and 1/4inch inputs same with Bluetooth and the mini stereo jack input, not sure u can plug in something and use Bluetooth at the same time or is it because it's stereo and is considered 2 channels? The base is good, sadly almost too much, wish there was a way to control the base output(without an external mixer), the midrange leaves a little to be questioned, however it does sound great out doors. Indoors it takes on a different feel. Bluetooth seems to constantly noticeably drop and can be rather annoying. I yet have to call customer service to ask about that, not sure it's a manufacturing defect or it's just not a well configurated element in the whole system?get used to disconnecting Bluetooth every time u use a different device even tho only one of them is being used, small but annoying something to do, doesn't happen in other JBL products. Great portability factor ,ease of use and set up,is what I went for and I have that. Overall decent sound I'd say ,poorly constructed (the cheaply plastic feel/look does not effect sound) but I'd expect a little better from JBL.(The smaller components they make look and feel sharp)

Poor Microphone Input Sensitivity
on March 3, 2017

I bought this unit as a stand alone unit to use at small venues, and liked the way the extension tubes all fit into the base unit. However the Mic input sensitivity was not correct (as bourn out by the amount of complaints in owners reviews). If put my guitar into the second input there was plenty of volume. I use a Shure 58 beta low impedance Microphone and decided to try putting a low to high impedance matching transformer on the end of the lead and found the volume was now "twice as loud". Connecting a TC Helicon Mic Mechanic echo/reverb pedal in the circuit also increased the volume. This shows that the inputs have not been correctly matched for low impedance microphones. The eon one now has plenty of volume and sounds great.
