This was my first brew kit, and I will always come back to it because it's a generally easy and tasty IPA when finished.

This is one amazing ale. I sampled today after 1 month in the bottle, plus 2 days in the fridge, and I can't believe how great it turned out. All the descriptions I read of AleSmith's double red IPA describe this Mr Beer version perfectly: "dark copper color, a little hop haze, a big ol’ sudsy tan head, loads of fruity hops and caramalt on the nose, hop-forward on the taste, caramalt into a full, slightly dry finish." Such a perfect blend of the citrus/floral hops floating over the deep, bitter bass note. This kit absolutely nails the style.

This is not just the best Mr Beer kit I've made so far (out of 6 kits), it's probably one of the best beers I've ever tasted. Amazingly complex, fruity-citrus hop profile, tan head and deep copper body, burnt bitter bass note, deliciously drinkable. I found that a full 8 weeks in bottle and 48 hours in the fridge were needed to really let this ale mature. I'm blown away at the brewery quality of beer I was able to make myself with my trusty LBK. I used to brew using a 5-gallon tub and extract kits from various manufacturers, but had brews fail frustratingly often. My record with Mr Beer, by contrast, is flawless. Every beer turns out beautifully, exactly to style, with no off-tastes of any kind.
I love Mr. Beer, period! My wife actually bought the brewing kit for me for Christmas, and I haven't felt the need to buy beer again. Still waiting to try the Diablo IPA, but I've brewed the Lager, Oktoberfest, American Lager, Red Ale, and brown ale. Even when I added and altered the flavor, all were a hit with friends, so I won't expect anything different from the IPA, especially since I added cinnamon, lemon zest, and vanilla to it 😁👍
Have yet to brew it but musing about mixing it with one can of Northwest Pale Ale. I saw someone had done that and called it by a name I do not remember.
Good IPA, especially with dry hopping on day 7 with mosaic hops, but be sure to use a sanitized hop sack so the hop particles don't clog the spigot and/or bottle filling wand.
