Almost as good as the original

I purchased an Oxo can opener 20+ years ago and loved it. I put it through the dishwasher routinely. It worked great until something happened to the heart and it stopped working.
Oxo replaced it under warranty. This new one works just not as well. And this one is hand wash only.
Kudos to Oxo for a great warranty but I wish this new can opener worked as well as my old one and I wish it were dishwasher safe.

4 vs 5 stars since does not do 6 ounce tomato paste can unless you turn it upside down . Flange on can bottom has edge to grip.

We have had same can opener for last 5 years- love it so much- I purchased one for work! We tried others & never worked very well until this one- won’t try any other brand- great new house or newlywed gift!
