Door Design Flaw

A few things about this washer, good and bad: First the good. It has a large capacity and is customizable to the wash I need. I am tall, and my clothes take a lot of room in the washer. My wash fits well. The negative aspects of this are continuing in the current models. First, the fill valves are cheap. They turn off very quickly and cause the pipes to hammer and bang. I had to install arrestors. The biggest issue is the glass design. I am sure it helps move clothes in the drum, but residue and lint gather at the bottom of it. This causes a pinch in the door gasket and a leak. It is an annoying issue. The final flaw, is that a lot of lint goes out on the dirty water discharge. I have a septic tank, and this link clogs my septic filter. I had a Bosch washer which was far superior. Maybe Haier will make things better.

Constant rebalancing

The unit washed the first year like a charm. Since then it does constant rebalancing. It doesn't matter if it is a small or big load. A 1 hour load takes 1:30-2h. Tech and manual say up to 20 rebalancings are normal. Each rebalance adds 8 min to the cycle.

Barrel broke

I bought a GE thinking that it was a solid company . I had a bosh washer before and lasted 11 years . I had this washer for a year and a half . And the barrel broke ??? It started leaking in the back come to find out the barrel had broken !! Of course it only had a 1 year warranty . So it wasn’t covered . Horrible . Will never buy GE again !!

I love the washer it is very quiet. the longer is dryer than normal which makes the dryer work less. This make the units more efficient.

Purchased matched pair for new home. Shortly after warranty expired Softener and bleach dispenser failed to dispense products. Several articles of clothing were ruined by bleach that should have been dispensed in white cycle appears to have been dispensed in following wash cycle (colored clothes). So we no longer add bleach or softener. THEN, knob that allows setting for cycles failed to allow changes (spins freely).

5 year and done

Well this worked great until it didn’t. This will be the shortest amount of time ever for a new machine. I’ve owned multiple brand new machines. Just about 5 years and the rear bearing failed which would cost more than a new machine. I purchased a warranty but unfortunately I had my home being built and made the purchase before I even actually had them delivered and installed so my time passed for that. The repair too much Unless I tried to do it myself which just isn’t going to happen since the whole machine has to be taken apart :-( I feel like it should have lasted longer and I’ve seen many people with the same issue now.
