Electrolux Dishwasher

I purchased this expensive dishwasher expecting top quality. I have had nothing but problem after problem. This is the most expensive dishwasher I have ever purchased and by far the worst. It's very quiet because it won't run.

Very Disappointed

We purchased this dishwasher from Lowe's in March of 2010. It was wet inside right out of the box. It has never adequately cleaned the dishes. We have had several service calls on the applicance to no avail. We had a much cheaper (cost) dishwasher that was fantastic. During a kitchen remodel, we sought a quieter dishwasher that matched our new kitchen design.
I would never recommend an Electrolux dishwasher to anyone. Overall, this has been the worst appliance purchase we have ever made.

Unreliable and being replaced
on October 26, 2012

I have had this dishwasher for just just over 12 months and have had two service calls to date. As the repair service center was coming back for the 3rd time, the appliance store owner canceled the service call and invited me to come into the showroom to purchase a new dishwasher. The dishwasher was quiet and the controls were easy to use, however, the top rack spray wand assembly was not durable and often came apart from the water source so the sprayer would not function. Different parts of the assembly were replaced and still the upper rack dishes would not be cleaned well. For a higher-end product, I was not impressed with the quality of the plastics used and feel there should have been more stainless steel or other materials that would offer more durability. I do not recommend this dishwasher

Just be sure to install drain the right way.

Like this model. One design issue. If it leaks the leak detector is a sponge that gets wet and stays that way. I had to take unit apart and dry it out or the sensor would come back on again and disable the unit. The second point is that it is very critical to install with the drain loop going above the intake on the disposal. That is the spec, but just be very sure to do that and not cheat. I had old unit connected like that that worked for years. This one backed up very quickly. That caused the leak in point one. If installed right I doubt I would have had the issue.

Pros and cons
on January 22, 2013

The pros: extremely quiet...fantastic at cleaning ( I don't clean dishes off and use cascade "pillows"). Cons: ...stainless front always looks awful and it's hard to clean....the gasket had to be replaced because it didn't fit right and water leaked at the corner on the bottom where the bottom tray roller rolls over it and ruined part of my wood floor.... I can't ever tell when it's done because there's no indication and that's frustrating. At least on my kitchen aide I could lean down and look under to see the green light.....I don't like the way it loads at all. I could fit so much more in my kitchen aide. I could be more specific but you might not want that detail. I wish it was different. That's what I dislike the most. I appreciate you asking and wanting input.

Looks Great But Was a Mistake

In our last home we had a Miele and was very satisfied with it. However, we bought an Electrolux for our new home. It looks great in our kitchen, but within a week one of the metal tabs that separate the dishes broke off. Loading dishes is a problem. Not much design thought was put into loading efficiency. The Miele was much a better designed product. Shortly after the warranty expired a circuit board failed and had to be replaced. Cost was around $100.00. If the extended cycle isn't used, the dishes don't get cleaned even though we rinse all dishes before loading into dishwasher. We are extremely disappointed and would not recommend this product. In a couple years we probably will replace it with a Miele.

too many problems

Manufacturers' warranty is good for one year. Shortly after the first year all the problems began. Water hose going to motor was leaking, Error Code ER01..hose was replaced. Two days later Error Code ER 03 came on. Motor froze up due to leak. Mechanic came, ordered new motor, could not install motor, plastic base for motor was broken. It was brittle due to heat from motor, was replaced. control board was replaced. Thank goodness I had extended warranty for 4 years .Dishwasher was out for 3months due to repairs. Without an extended warranty you can forget it. The dishwasher was over $1100.00. Without the extended warranty, the repair costs would have been over $700.00 out of pocket!!! So much for buying what I thought was a " top brand". I am one very unhappy customer.
