Corroded metal prongs

We have and love Dewalt tools, unfortunately the new battery packs we bought around Christmas time are already corroded. Our old battery packs lasted 10 years. Very disappointed in this product.

Went bad after less than a year

I bought a two pack and first one, then the other stopped charging after a less than a year. For the price that is unacceptable.

Battery pack go bad so fast, expensive but not reliable as the tool, the problem is that you are stuck with this type of battery pack.

Awful batteries

I bought them pre installed on my dewalt drill. I used them maybe twice a year. It doesn’t keep charge anymore. Waste of money.

Newer batteries don’t last

Bought a pair of these almost 3 years ago and both are worthless now. We have a pair of the same that are 5 years old and they still work great. Just like all other companies, products are made to poorer standards and sadly, the consumer has developed a tolerance for substandard quality.

Waste of money, will not hold a charge or recharge

I have several of these and the smaller 18V batteries that are gently and rarely used. I bought six a little over two years ago when the other four I had were going bad. I was told the shelf life was up to 5 years or so. I was going to switch to lithium but all my Dewalt tools use these so I stuck with these. Out of the six only one battery will charge and hold a charge. One other charges but dies quickly and the four remaining will not charge at all.
I have a little Rockwell impact driver that I haven’t charged in almost 3 years that’s sitting in my tool box for small tasks that still had charge enough to do the task I intended for my Dewalt driver. Dewalt tools are great but the batteries are poor. I need to see if Duracell makes batteries for these tools.
