Fantastic Opener

You will never know how convenient it is to have an Opener until your old non Chamberlain model breaks down and you have to do everything by hand. I bought this 3/4 unit with all the upgrades, installed it my self in 2 hours and boy o boy is this thing amazing! Super quite only noise is the door! And all the programming is so simple a 10 year old would have no problems. I even can control the door away from my home if need be!
I cannot tell you how happy I am with my purchase, I look forward to buying some light switches so I can control lights away from home also using the same Chamberlain APP!

Pros: easy install, easy programming, control away from home
Cons: none!

Great Garage Door Opener

I just did the install this weekend replacing an older liftmaster. The install took a little bite of time but overall I love the opener. It is so quiet. I must admit I also installed new nylon rollers. After 14 years it was a good thing to do. I have two mazdas a 14 Mazda 6 and a 2015 Mazda cx5, both have the home link. The vehicles programed effortlessly. Yes I did the app also. No more wondering about if the door is up or down. Nice. My only hope is that this technology is robust. I have no reason to believe it won't be but it is new for me and perhaps to the industry.
Pros: battery backup, easy to install, Packaged Well, quiet, WiFi Capable

Very quiet. Easy to assemble

Bought the same unit but model number HD750WFC for Canada I guess. It was easy to assemble in a few hours including dismantle of old opener. If you are looking to save time and you are replacing an old opener (I had a craftsman chain drive) the rail is identical. Just need to swap out the wheel at the door end for the belt drive. Old supports from the ceiling work just fine as do the arm linkage on the door itself. My only issue is that I would like it to be compatible with a simple switch to open/close the door at the entrance like my old craftsman. The wireless pin code on the outside does allow you to close the door by pushing the "enter" button. Also the push clips for inserting the controller and safety eyes are weak. Be careful not to push too hard or often.
Pros: easy to assemble. very quiet
Cons: weak wire connectors

Battery Backup Not Worth It
on August 31, 2016

I purchased this opener back in 2009 (my version did not have the smart phone capability). It has worked really well except for one big flaw. The battery used for the battery back-up only lasts a few years. Then the opener is programmed like a smoke alarm would be to continually sound until you change the battery. I'm sorry, but that is not necessary at all! Not having a functioning battery back-up is not on the level of a smoke alarm not working, and is beyond annoying. Plus the battery used is not something you can run to just any store and pick up. It uses a special battery and the special battery is much more expensive than a typical battery. On top of this, in the 7 years I have had the opener, I have had to open the garage door while the power was out a total of zero times. My advice, skip on the battery backup - not worth it. The opener it self is a good product minus this feature.
Pros: reliable
Cons: short life on battery, low battery tone does not stop until replaced, expensive replacement battery

Problems with every season
on July 25, 2016
Posted by: johndoe
I purchased this garage door opener to replace one that was 35 years old. It was installed by a reputable company and updates to the other existing hardware were done. It worked great until the warranty was over. Every time the season changes I have new problems with using the door opener. All winter it reopens when a 1/8in is under it. Spring comes and it takes hitting the remote twice to get it to open. Purchasing a new car and connecting it so I can use the car connection to close the door started all sorts of new problems. It won't stay closed and for weeks I kept getting a message that something was in the way. I swept out every piece of lint in the tracks and that didn't help, finally I vacuumed inside the tracks and it started working again for two days. Now I get the message number 42 - excessive force. I haven't changed a setting on this door since it was installed.

Great Opener

This is one of the best garage door openers I have ever owned. Quite and smooth as silk. I sometimes have to look back to double check that it's actually operating.
I purchased this after my 10 year old unit died when one of the garage door springs broke. The repairman from a national chain recommended a Chamberlain belt drive while having a some Genie units in his truck.
With regards to the battery, if you don't want to use it then either don't install it or if you want the beeping to stop; unplug the opener, remove the battery, plug it back in, problem solved.
And for the gentleman having issues with the opening and closing, this unit has one of the most intuitive adjustment systems I have ever seen. Either read the manual or call up that reputable installer to come back and do it.
Pros: quite easy to program and adjust

B970 opener

I have had a short time so as to performance I have not had it long enough. It was not very hard to install and in the short time works well. I am mainly writing the to mention that I have an older IPhone that only goes to IOS9 and when I went to load app it would not work because it needs IOS10 which I didn't see on the box or in the book. I still would have bought but not spent time trying to use Wi-Fi
Pros: battery backup, easy to install, quiet
Cons: need ios10 for app

The garage door opener is very quiet. In fact, the project manager at our community said that the neighbors would be envious if they heard it in operation. We are very pleased.
Pros: battery backup, easy to install, Packaged Well, quiet, reliable, Sturdy, Stylish
