A Different Perspective

Coming from a crummy GE low end model to this one made a WORLD of difference. Here's how:
The previous GE oven had "Accu-temp"--garbage. You'd turn off the oven and then restart it right away and see that instead of being at 350, it's 345, 330, even 325. Baked goods are by chance ready, but almost always need longer. With this Whirlpool, whether the top or bottom oven, the food comes out baked crispy. Not sure how accurate but I'm confident it is. Challah takes 18 minutes--as long as it should.
Sabbath mode--SO easy. Put in your temperature and if you wish, bake time, then press "settings" and 7 (for the 7th day??) and BOOM--it's in Sabbath mode. No fiddling with multiple buttons at once. Yes, the light will stay on if you leave it on before putting it in Sabbath mode, or off if you leave it off before setting it. For holy days, it gives you a ticker tape display, telling you how to change the temp to one of many temperatures.
Cleaning it, I have nothing to compare it to as we've always had coil tops--using either the Whirlpool recommended Affresh or the cheaper Cerma Bryte with the handle and scrubber does a good job.
What they could have done to make it better:
Provide a second oven rack for the top oven. When making pizzas, a second oven rack could have been provided (4 instead of 3) and would bake two pizzas (unless it's Sicilian styled). Yes, you could just move one from the bottom to the top rack, but for those who keep strictly kosher, it's too much of a hassle to do "kascher" it.
When you open an oven (top or bottom) BOTH lights come on. There's no need for that.
Warming Zone. A great option but will NOT work on Sabbath mode. Why?? If you want to put a "blech" on the warming tray plus a pan on top, followed by what you're heating up on Shabbat morning, it won't get hot enough.
Overall, very pleased!

Poor temperature and very hot cook top

The only nice thing about the stove is the cooktop burners. The ovens do not cook anywhere close to the temp you set. If you adjust it for 1 temp the next time you cook at a higher temp it will be way higher. When the oven is on the cook top is extremely hot to the touch to the point of burning you.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the features

The only draw back would be that you almost need to kneel on the floor to check on the food in the lower oven. The range works wonderfully. I would only say that the markings on the control dials are difficult to see

This is a serious toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me clarify the use of 'Toy' in the title. It is fun to use and explore cooking with but it is not built like a toy. It is well built and so far dependable. This is my first double oven and convection oven. The only down side is now you have to buy the power cord.
