The machine is supposed to be self balancing. It doesn't. The machine is perfectly level but when it spins it moves around on the floor. When washing the load gets out of balance it squeals like 2 pieces of metal grinding together. You have to pause it and move the clothes around until you get the clothes balanced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your washer is unbalanced we would recommend to pause the cycle, rearrange the clothes in the drum, reduce some clothes if it's overloaded, and start the cycle again.

Poor cleaning

This machine just soaks the cloths, drains the water then spins them. Some cloths might not even get wet. Stainy cloth come out of the washer with their untouched stain. I am extremely dissatisfied with its performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only use if you like replacing your clothes

Pros. Does clean clothes Love the Tap Water cycle. Love the Pause setting for soaking
Cons. 1) Only one spin speed “destroy “, even on delicate. One spin speed for all settings. I have to babysit and manually stop washer during spin cycle to protect clothes. Only good for towels. Not good if you hang out laundry-too wrinkled
2) No Downey option Not good if you hang out laundry
3) Cannot add additional water. So you have to wash more frequently and smaller loads.
4) Never ever use the low water level. Even for one piece of laundry. It will be reduced to threads. Way too violent for use

Worst washer we have ever owned & do NOT recommend

Worst washer we have ever owned. First 5 months and the gear box blew out, luckily that was under warranty. Since then it has always had trouble with sensing water level, computer gets confused on what to do when, and had the water drain pump fail. Between this and other premature failure of GE products I will be buying from other companies.
