Decent television, happy with my purchase.

Previous television died this morning after 7 years. Was a 50” rca so this was definitely an upgrade from what I previously had. Just started getting into it and so far very happy. Does much much more than what I need. The picture and sound are great for a television. By the way the television is 55” not smaller as per previous review. “Televisions are measured diagonally”. Lol.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this over one month ago and I still marvel the colours and brightness of this television...Did all kinds of research prior to the purchase with several visits to the store and Sony always stood out...Very pleased with Best Buy and Geek Squad for service and wall installation....

Amazing tv

I did a lot of researches and compared many brands and models (like spending a month). If you want something with quality pictures without breaking your bank, this is the one to go! And with 65 inch tv, you can get to know the meaning of ultra HD (don’t buy a smaller one as 4K is meaningless with smaller screens, but you can go even bigger (I live in a condo)! I also bought a Sony sound bar and they work so perfectly together!

Great Picture - poor motion handling
on May 31, 2020

Great picture after a fair bit of tweaking. Very bright screen BUT the motion blur while watching sports was atrocious. This TV is supposed to be one of the best at handling motion but hockey pucks were either skipping frames or were so smoothly blurred that it was hard to follow. Same for tennis, football, soccer. In 1080p and even 4k streams. Had a techie from the store come down to try to calibrate it and the best he could do did not even come close to my 10 yr old Sony SXRD rear projection with a 60 hrz panel. Bought another one to compare it against and it did not perform any better. Returned them and am still looking for something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Be aware, this tv is not really 55 inches, it is 48.5 inches, buuuut 55 inches diagonally... so you are buying for a tv 49 inches....

Very happy

I ordered this tv on April 21st and expected delivery date was April 28th, it showed up on the 22nd and we are couldn't be happier. Setup and navigation is very easy. You'll have to adjust your sound and display settings to whatever works best for you, just like any tv. There's a noticeable upgrade in quality from our previous 10 year old led tv that just died. Amazon had the same tv for the same price, but went with BestBuy and we're glad we did. Can't beat 1 day delivery.

One complaint: Inputs
on October 31, 2019

from Brampton, ON
The TV is great in all ways except input options. My older DVD player does not have an HDMI interface, only L/R Audio and Composite Video. The TV has a single 4 conductor mini-phone jack that requires an adapter/cable to connect this type of older equipment, but it is not supplied with the TV. There is no mention of this issue on the box. Unfortunately, Best Buy does NOT carry the required adapter or cable in-store (available online only). It would be a small "extra" for SONY to include that item, but it would allow the purchaser to use the TV as soon as it is set up and not require a separate trip to a competitor electronics shop, or a multi-day wait for an online purchase and delivery.

Never Ever Buy Sony Products

You should be aware that if you have a problem and your warranty has expired you will be forced to throw the equipment out. $3500 for a 75" set that only lasted 19 months and now it's garbage should never happen. Sony does not care to help in any way. They have no authorized service anymore. It's sad and pathetic. Don't do what i did. Just buy from any other manufacturer.
