Bought this 4K TV when my old flat screen failed. The picture quality is fantastic! Even old DVDs that I made years ago which were acceptable on my old TV now look great! Pass on TVs with software upscale and get this model with the hardware processor.

Digital audio out volume stymied me

Like a lot of people, I have an older AV receiver. This precludes me from using that receiver as an HDMI hub. Therefore I have to use digital audio out from the TV to my receiver. The problem is that the menu is not clear about relating The speaker/audio system setting with digital output volume.
For the longest time I could not understand why there was no output to my amplifier with the optical cable. It turns out you have to turn the volume up inside that deep menu item (Sound—speakers-digital audio volume) just so that you can control the volume from your amplifier. This could be made much clearer by printing a line in the manual that describes the digital audio volume necessity. Other than that confusion, the set up was simple and the 4K is beautiful.
I would recommend this to a friend!
