I have had this tv for about 3 months now and continue to be blown away by the incredible picture. 4K HDR movies and 4K HDR shows on Netflix, Prime etc. are stunning and truly give you that hard to find sense of solidity, vibrancy and dimensionality that make you feel you are looking out a window to the image on the screen.
Prior to purchasing this tv I read numerous reviews (both user and professional) and some felt that the motion processing was its weak link. It may be that Sony has improved the motion processing with firmware updates since the tv was first introduced but my experience has been that the motion processing as of today is excellent. I should qualify this by stating that i watch a wide variety of program material ranging from movies to sports. I do not watch test patterns. Maybe this is where some of the criticism comes from.
All in all an incredible tv and easily the best tv I have ever owned. It is always exciting when you purchase something that ends up exceeding your expectations.
This particular set is getting very difficult to find new but if you have the chance do not hesitate. You will be thrilled when you get it into your own home.
I have seen the new Z9 F and it appears to be very good but I have yet to see it in a home environment. I have seen the 65 and 85” X900F in a home environment and have to say that I consider them to be the best bang for the buck 4k set on the market. If you cannot find a Z9D and do not want to invest in the Z9F then the 900F is the way to go.

I wanted to love Sony TVs...

I love other Sony products, so I was extremely excited to pick up this TV. Unfortunately, the clouding and screen uniformity on this TV is absolutely horrendous. I have flash-lighting and white blotches in dark scenes even when sitting in front of it. Even after enabling auto local dimming, the cloudiness and white-filter look of this TV is a major turn off. Very grainy compared to what I have seen with other peoples' sets (same set as this). Some clouding is normal in this type of panel, but definitely not like this. I am majorly disappointed because it took me a very long time to research and decide choosing this set only to be unable to enjoy it to the fullest. 85% of my time with this TV is spent fiddling with the settings to get the terrible grain and cloudiness to go away to little success. The picture is promising when it works. I've seen videos of other peoples' sets, and mine seems to be in the minority. The white blotchiness is not present on my friend's 900e or a few videos online with videos of their 930e's. Cameras usually make clouding worse, but this picture really looks this bad on my screen. This is with a backlight AND in daytime. I feel robbed because all the research I did on this TV made it seem incredible. It got two stars because I know all TVs aren't like this. The panel lottery is absolutely real. To be safe, please just avoid this TV. As a Sony fan, I am majorly disappointed in the quality control.

Good TV, software needs work

Bought this TV a few months ago. While it has been a mostly good experience, Android TV freezes and crashes pretty on occasion. Prime Video stutters. There's no YouTubeTV app.
So I'm short, I like the TV, but Google and Sony need to improve Android TV.

Yes, it's a really good tv... but, where they earned their 5-star rating with me was when I had an issue with a line going across the tv... they sent me out a new one. Sony stood behind their product and made the exchange fairly painless.

We've had this TV since last February. We love the picture, sound, and all the features. The remote is the only reason that we don't give it a 5 star. It is slow and not very user friendly. Despite the cumbersome remote, we would definitely buy this TV again.
