This is our third Sony .... we bought an LG that only lasted three years and had a mediocre picture....while our older Sony is still running like a champion....love our new Sony.....superior picture.....we will stick with Sony from now on.....so, worth the slightly higher cost....

Yes, it's a really good tv... but, where they earned their 5-star rating with me was when I had an issue with a line going across the tv... they sent me out a new one. Sony stood behind their product and made the exchange fairly painless.
