[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far we are happy with our new frig. After a lot of research and learning a lot about refrigerators, we decided on this one. We had a Whirlpool before this, which it was okay but the ice maker broke (soon after we got it) and the ice box was on the door so the ice always melted in the bottom of container. We had that frig for 11 years which I guess is about average. Why we chose this one. Well first off the simplicity of the frig. There is nothing on the exterior door. The water dispenser is inside the frig and the ice maker is in the freezer....where it belongs. The water is always cold and tastes great. The ice is never melted, and always a steady supply. We got a nice little scoop to use to get the ice out. There seems to be enough room to put all the groceries in, we are a family of 4. We do have a small drink frig in our garage. The doors seem to seal well and it's pretty quiet. Occasionally when it drops ice I can hear it but my old frig made the same noise. We have only had this for a short time but hope that we get longevity out of it. Next purchase is the stove...I want handles to match and its time for a replacement.

Expect rusted finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Refrigerator works mechanically, however, the "stainless steel" finish on not only this appliance but a dishwasher began rusting out within three months of purchase. Kitchenaid only warranties the finish on their appliances one month. I would have expected much better for an upper end appliance that used to have a great reputation. Never again!

Noisey! Noisey!

The NOISE of this fridge is beyond horrible, and CONSTANT. I can hear it throughout the house--a high pitched ringing noise. I have this same fridge at a cabin and there's zero noise, beyond the fan turning on periodically. Two techs have come out, with calls into Whirlpool (who owns KitchenAid). According to the Whirlpool tech, "there was a bad lot of these and we are aware of the problem. Try replacing the compressor. It may help." MAY...and they know the issue. The techs coming to the house have tried to help, but this is a known issue. They should replace my fridge! Oh, and this is the 2nd model we have had installed in 6 months--the first fridge heated rather than cooled. This is a horrible unit. DO NOT BUY IT!

Love our Fridge!

We built a new home and put all Kitchenaid black stainless appliances in and they are absolutely beautiful! I do not think we could have chosen anything better!

Poor purchase, nothing fits!

I bought this refridgerator about 3 months ago and find it to be aweful. The shelf and door space do not hold much. No matter how you adjust the shelves, you cannot place a gallon of milk or amond mild in the fridge wihtout losing half a shelf. The doors close on you while you are trying to place something in the fridge. The freezer "basket" is vey cheeply made and is very shallow that it doe not hold a lot. Furthermore, to get the separators out of the freezer you need to take the whole basket out and use a screw driver to pry it off - and hopefully not break it. All in all i am not happy with this refrigerator and would love to return it and get my old one back. If I could I would rate it -1.

Garbage

The first one I bought had a warped freezer door after being strung along for 6 months with limited freezer capacity the unit was final replaced. That unit lasted a whole 3 years till it stopped working. I thought kitchenaid was quality turns out it’s just another hunk of metal waiting to be recycled.

RUST- don’t buy

I bought this and within 1 year the outside of the freezer and refrigerator doors have RUSTED. I have only ever cleaned this with recommended products. The warranty I purchased doesn’t even cover the damage. It looks terrible and was clearly made with very cheap materials and is NOT worth the price. I hope kitchen aid will accept responsibility. WASTE OF MONEY.

Making vibrating noises
