Bought Alta model for the slim wrist design and the convenience of a single wearable.
ALTA has a Combo watch/text message notice/calendar apt reminder/ plus the steps/sleep/etc...exercise tracker.
Good design. Band is a nightmare to snap on...but it stays on securely for me.
Battery life is less than the 5 days advertised...3.5 -4 days at best for me.
Mine died once after fully charging...lost the whole day? Recharged for 5 minutes...and it came back to life...but the whole day of activity was lost?
No repeat of this issue so far?

I like it for the technology and information, but the band is very difficult to clasp. I have to connect the ends of the band together and then slide it over my wrist because it's too hard to put it on using just using one hand.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I liked my Sony swr50 better but unfortunately I misplaced my android phone the s5 active. I prefer to purchase my phones out right and thought I would give the iPhone 5 a try. Sony is not compatible with iOS. I prefer Android hands down. The same goes for fitness watches and bands. It's very basic. Although the app is pretty cool, this device would be more inticing if I new of another person with a Fitbit. We could compete in challenges. But for me, I know nobody with a Fitbit. So this band is a glorified overly priced step tracker that reminds me to chase down my phone is someone messages me. If I get a call, it vibrates. But it vibrates for several other reasons. It doesn't show that I have an incoming call so that notification is pointless. Why did I waste my money? Oh well!! I'll put this in the drawer with my Sony products until the s6 active comes down
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the FitBit Alta and was very skeptical as to whether it would really be beneficial to me. Much to my surprise I absolutely love it!!! It's small and doesn't get in my way and tracks my sleep and is extremely easy to use to track daily water and food intake. Love the way it pops up and motivates me to move!!!

I have had Fitbit for 3 weeks and it has become undone and fallen off 4 times. Yes, I work hard to latch firmly but still band has become unfastened after become caught on something. I think the two prongs will enlarge band holes which will require purchase if another band.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
