Great sounding NC headphones

I have had these for about 9 months now and overall, I'm quite pleased with them. The sound quality is great, with or without NC. I use them in airplanes and in the office. In the office they are great; a nice, balanced sound. They really shine, however, on an airplane with the NC turned on. It's amazing to hear bass, voices, etc. while at 10000 meters! Battery life of the NC is stellar. Be advised though, the bass isn't maybe as pleasing to the bass-heads out there. While music like hip-hop and electronica sound great, they don't quite kick the bass like some other headphones. Turning the NC on does help, though. If you like balanced, hi-fi sound these are great. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars, for me, is the lack of a 3-button remote on the cord. An aftermarket cord could fix this. Please AKG, please make a cord for these with 3-button iOS control. Thanks!

Great sound, average accessories

I bought these mainly for air travel. Noise cancellation is excellent, considering these are on-ear units. Sound quality is impeccable. The ear cushions are super-soft and comfortable. A few irritants though:
- the carrying case is sub-par for such high-end headphones: the cables are stuffed in a hard to reach and even harder to close pouch, and the case itself has a tendency to open up. Compare this with Sennheiser's efficient cases for headsets half the price...
- the audio cable comes with straight jacks at both ends, which means said jacks are fully exposed and sticking out when plugged in. On an airplane this is a disaster waiting to happen - I much prefer angled jacks. Also, the 4-way jack has trouble with older airline audio sockets. An accessory angled 4-way to 3-way adapter with volume dampening (see below) would be a very worthwhile addition.
- the headset volume control only works when connected to a compatible device. So the control doesn't work when you plug into an airplane entertainment system. This is a shame as airline systems often have crude volume controls (and the "minimum" setting is often very loud). Bose used to supply an adapter with volume dampening - something to consider.

Great for travel

Very good noise canceling. Great feature to be able to "plug-in" and have 30 hour battery life. Like this feature for use with IPhone digital out through Dragonfly DAC for the best sound so far. Blue tooth is average. Headphone impedance could be lower for more volume. The negatives here are nit-picky as these are great headphones for travel. I have enjoyed them very much.

Great sound but..

I love these headphones. They are lighter than the Y50model but too lightly. they don’t have much pressure on my ears and music escape from them. I have a small head and sometimes they move along with the band. I think designers should rethink it. Design, always been a problem with AKG. They are expensive with old version of Bluetooth 4.0. They should have the latest Version 5.0, which it is been out for long time. This will improve connectivity and music quality. The sound is always been great as HARMAN is behind it.

Worst microphone I ever encountered

I got it a month ago and used ever since. Great audio, sound is strong, battery lasts long, visually very appealing, comes with a relatively nice pouch to carry around. Meanwhile, the microphone is a complete trash: not a single person can hear me well, each conversation starts with "can you take off your headset?" If I use the wire plug in microphone that comes with it the situation is pretty much the same, unless you really hold the microphone by your mouth all the time. As good as it gets for shielding outer notices and listening to music, a useless as it gets for communicating. Dissapointed.

Great Sound, iffy manual

Even with my military comprimised hearing these sound great. They are as comfy as headphones can be at under 7 oz. The manual on the other hand suck. The print is so small that cheeters don't work, you need a magnifying glass, a big one. The on line manual seems to be describing a totally different style of N60s. Other than that, great.!!!
