This unit doesn't cool properly. Set temp but doesn't get down to that temp. Unplug unit for awhile and it works for a day.

I bought it in 2006, And just started having trouble with it. It is one of a few appliances that have served me well since Re Some people may not like it building after hurricane Katrina. I’m hoping the problem only relates to a power outage and my resetting the temp. I can’t complain.

More GE garbage, not made to last
on October 15, 2025

Yet ANOTHER made to fail product from GE. Our entire kitchen is GE Profile (fridge, dishwasher, stove, ovens, wine cooler). The ONLY appliance that has not failed are the ovens. Everything else has had a simple part fail on it and GE has no replacement. For this wine cooler, it's the relay. Tens of thousands in appliances with a lifespan of 5 to 10 years before some miniscule part needs replacing and yet GE discontinues the part. Planned Obsolescence it's called. It should just be called theft.

We're sorry to hear about your wine center needing a replacement relay. We no longer manufacture this part. For the best assistance with this, we recommend contacting our parts team to check for any compatible parts. We also suggest checking certain third-party part distributors for available parts.

Disappointing!

Wine cooler is only two years old, but no longer maintains temperature. It says its one temperature, but is a lot warmer. This is second of these units we've owned. The first was 5 years old when we sold our house and left it. This one just barely 2. Very disappointing considering how expensive it was!

Wine Chiller was exactly as expected
on September 10, 2012

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We chose this wine chiller to compliment the rest of the GE Profile Appliances in our kitchen. Very nice looking appliance, chilled quickly, have found the temperature to be accurate. Delivery was easy and quick, with the techs leveling the chiller and repositioning it twice as I requested. No dents/dings/issues with the appliance. Looks great under my countertop. Will update after a few months of use.

From a cocktail nerd perspective
on February 9, 2013

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator to house the usual suspects of a cocktail enthusiasts needs. Sherry, Vermouth, aromatized wines and sparkling wines. It does not disappoint. The primary concerns from someone like me is the fact that the bottles these kind of things come in vary in shape dramatically. With a lot of cheaper wine refrigeration products on the market the amount of space that one bottle is expected to fill is the absolutely slimmest 750ml bottle that exists. Think of the standard bottle that Dolin vermouth comes in. But then you run into trouble makers like Cardamaro and Byrrh.
I'm happy to report that larger diameter bottles like those fit on the outer slots of the shelves (on the farthest left and right) snugly but without issue. The center of the shelves does not accommodate them but thankfully bottles like those are still the minority. Now this only applies to 750ml bottles. 1L bottles (such as Carpano Antica) will strictly have to live on the bottom display shelf. Same goes for most sparkling wine. Beyond that there may only be room for 3 oversize bottles on the display shelf, the 4th will have to be of the slimmer variety. Another trick I've come across is that if you have a number of oversize bottles and you don't need the full 29 bottle capacity you can remove one of the shelves to make room for an shelf dedicated to oversize bottles. Overall I'm quite happy with it. I do wish the included light was brighter but that's a relatively minor qualm.

Where is quality control?
on February 11, 2012

Custom ordered from a big box home improvement store, the first one arrived, shipping container and packaging intact and cabinet looked fine. It wouldn't level. Upon looking at the bottom frame in back, it was severely bent. Must have come from the factory that way. Big box store replaced. The new one, received yesterday, also was in perfect packaging and shipping materials. Did a cursory check before taking it home. After unpacking here and removing film from top, I found the top front corner of the cabinet to be crushed. Again, must have come from the factory that way. Returning this one, not exchanging. I'll be looking at a different brand.
