Initially out of the box, battery life and application performance fair at best. Latest OS update a huge improvement. However, today the OS decided to erase my entire collection of shortcuts on home screen and other screens. Also erased the canned home screen shipped originally from Samsung. OK performance if you can live with goofy stuff happening from time to time. Not for inexperienced user.
This tablet is just really cool. I got this for mostly for entertainment purposes. I really made use of the multitask bar and thought that it was really useful it had that. I downloaded quite a few apps even though having half of the space to download them because of the built in apps I sadly didn't need and updates I had to install, so a SD card would be a great idea to get if you want to download apps, movies, music and other media. The 1.5 gigs of RAM was also pretty great with playing those apps and games. And it has a perfect sized screen for surfing the web and watching videos. The design of the tablet was good. The only thing I didn't like about the design is that the power button is on the same side the sound buttons were on. Or either that it's because I'm so used to my phone having the power button on one side and the volume buttons on the other. But other than that the SD is in a really useful place and really liked the front and back cameras. Very pleased with this tablet, though.
Pros: BIG screen Easy to use Android powered Nice design Sd card slot Camera takes good photos Speakers are good notifications on time Kids mode Helpful customer service
Negatives: lacks color (black or white) only 8 gb but really 4ish gbs with all the preloaded stuff No frount speakers No flash for camera Sd card only up to 32 gbs
Yes there's cons but don't let it stop you from buying it, it's a alsome tab alot of features on it and i i love it so much!!!!

My dream tab would be a Samsung Galaxy tab 7.0 with frount speakers metal trim purple body with beats sound plus sd card up to 64 gbs for music and photos then a better camera that would be my dream tab
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, customer service, android, easy to use, camera, sd slot (up to 32gbs), notification
If I wrote this a year ago, my opinion might differ. For most people this tablet would be a great choice. It is wonderfully accessible and has a lot of nice features. The display, size, and weight are all very nice. My only real problem is that the hardware is a little dated and I was not able to smoothly run a lot of the newer high powered games and apps. The retail price is also still a little high for a tablet of this age. If you don't require heavy processing power or extreme graphic capabilities, this will be an amazing tablet for you.
I'm pretty impressed with my Galaxy Tab 4. It's light, affordable, and handles all of the tasks that I need a tablet for. Standby mode seems to conserve battery life pretty well, compared to other tablets that I've owned. The display is bright and vivid, and it seems to multi-task well.
