I have to have it on maximum volume to watch anything and there is still no real bass.

We initially had the DVD home theater system HTS3372D/F7. It died after about a year and half and wouldn't power up at all. We bought this thinking it was the same thing. No docking port for i-pods, and only two as opposed to five types of surround sound were very disappointing. However, not as disappointing as trying to figure out why the volume on everything is so low. The other system would drive you out of the house at a volume of 15. I have to have this one on 60 just to watch movies. What gives Philips?
Cons: why can't i hear anything????

We haven't even had our product a year yet and it makes a loud grinding sounds and our dvds skip and freeze up all of the time even a brand new dvd . We can not afford to buy another one.

This system introduced me to home theater in my apartment. Nice to have layered sound quality while you're listening to music or watching a favorite movie or television show on DVD. Even more convenient that CD, DVD, and FM tuner can come from ONE system.
These are great when the system works properly. One of the rear speakers were mislabeled, the FM did not get great reception, and after only two-and a half weeks of only occasional use, new DVDs would stick, then play during operation. I returned the system back after following the advice of a Phillips representative (why should a customer clean the laser reader if it is suppose to be a "new system"?)
Pros: general ease in connections, good crisp layered sound quality, fm tuner is a great feature when reception is clea
Cons: poor speaker labeling, dvd skips during play, problems with unit only weeks if occasional use, dvd skipped during play, poor advice given from phillips representative

Great Sound DVD tray Broke

I love the sound that this system put out. However. The DVD Player tray motor broke and made my DVD player useless. The i pod dock and TV surround worked excellent and I couldn't have been happier with the sound.
Pros: excellent sound
Cons: dvd tray motor broke

this home theatre system packs a huge punch from little speakers, great work philips now we can fully sdjust bass treble mids and overall volume in settings
Pros: compact powerful
