This is a great Sodastream. It's very easy to set up and use, and it carbonates well. The dishwasher safe glass bottle is also a huge plus.

Our family LOVES Sodastream. We use it everyday. This purchase was an upgrade from the plastic bottle models after one of those finally broke. (It lasted a long time, so no complaints.) We love the look and feel of the glass and feel it was worth the extra money for us. But, the design of the product could be improved. The bottom bottle holder part and the top plastic canister part both get some water in them due to spritzing overflow. The way the product is designed, that doesn't drain. I think it would be much better to have no standing water, which I'm concerned with get gross or even moldy in the summer heat and over time.

Owned for 3 years and still love it

I have owned this model for 3 years and make sparkling water daily. I will say the glass that it comes with has an awkward cap, but it works fine. I ordered a second glass bottle that has a much better screw cap design.
The only reason I'm giving this 4 instead of 5 is that over time the pressure relief seems to be a little finicky. At first, you would simply get the clicking sound when it's ready. Now, we get that occasionally, but if we hold the button down too long it seems to not relieve pressure like it normally would and almost over carbonate. Then, when releasing the pressure water will bubble up over the bottle and get the inside of the container a little wet. Not a huge deal since I know all the little tricks to make a perfect bottle, but thought it would be worth mentioning.

Still has problems!

It carbonates fine, but as other people have noted, the locking mechanism has become nearly impossible to unlock after carbonating. I'm a strong man. If someone who doesn't have much upper body strength they would never get it open. I've only had it for 2.5 months. I bought a Source first and should have stuck with it.

Buy a different model

I have 4 different soda stream models, all more than 18 months old. This model has never carbonated as well as the others. The nozzle that fits inside the neck of the carafe does not seal properly I have tried three different crystal machines and all have the same problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this as a gift for Christmas, I can not move the unite to the left or right , it does not line up... such a disappointment. I would NOT recommend this at all!!!

I especially love it because it has a glass carafe, adjustable fizz control, is easy to use, and the cartridge lasts a long time. After I bought mine, I bought another for my friend and then ANOTHER for another friend
