I'm not going to into all the disadvantages of the design of this machine. I think the other reviewers have hit the design issues spot on. My issue is with the actual quality of the product. My machine is only 3 months old and will not brew even a half pot of coffee before shutting itself off. Forget about using the brew timer as it is completely unreliable especially when the machine shuts itself two minutes into the brewing cycle. I've always had mr coffee machines but replaced my last one because of quality issues and will be replacing this one as well now. Want to bet that it won't be with another mr. Coffee machine?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Machine On The Market

I purchased this machine as a gift for my daughter. She raved about and when my own coffee maker broke, I did not hesitate to purchase this one for myself. It is perfect. Just the right amount of coffee, the hot shot station is a life saver, and the coffee is hot, hot, hot. Great value for the price too!

Swing, and a miss!

Gents, this is some poor quality control on this model. Although I agree with many of the criticisms, thought I would add my own new one. My carafe broke. The glass just sorta fell out of the handle/rim when I was cleaning the inside with a sponge brush. Of course, a million pieces and all that goes into cleaning that up along with a few drops of blood. My point is that you have a reputation for quality and your reputation is being damaged. I hope that you are firing someone over the poor models coming out lately.

Have had this for a few weeks now and so far it has performed great. Finally a cup of coffee that comes out hot and stays HOT! Am very pleased with this product and sure hope it keeps working.
Bought this over a month ago and love it! Great quality of coffee brewing as usual from Mr Coffee. The hot water dispenser allows you to turn it on and then walk away and not worry about it or having to shut it off when you are busy doing other things. It will stay warm for awhile. Only drawback is when it auto shuts off, you must actually make coffee again at 2 cups. The older machines all you had to do was turn it on again and it would keep it warm 2 more hours. My wife and I have different wake up schedules so trying to reset the auto timer is not convenient.

The Worst Ever

I bought this months ago. I hate it!, but lost my receipt and no longer have the box (never expected to use it since I love my Mr. Coffee products) I have Frappe machine, Latte Machine, Barista and a Mr Coffee Keurig. I love them all, and they have always been great when I am ready to use them. This coffee pot is the worst I have ever bought and I always buy Mr Coffee product. I bought this to replace the one that lightening flew through the window and attacked.. I started to buy a cheaper pot like I had and a burr mill grinder, but thought this coffee maker may be nice. Sooo- wrong. I'll just wait until the end of the year to replace it, don't know if I will go with Mr Coffee the next time.
