Noisy rattletrap

Bought this for my new house. The first on delivered never went beyond the water fill cycle. Got a second new one and after a few weeks the pump sounded like a garbage disposal, and spin cycle was like an airplane vibrating. The wash cycles automatically defer to your last wash cycle. example rinse and spin, that's how the washer starts the next time you use it.. Limited water temp settings on the wash cycles. Returned them for brand I had previously owned. Much happier width my old brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Some problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It cleans okay, but there are some problems with it. I cannot dry rubber backed rugs and very heavy items because they catch in the space between the wall of the dryer drum and the door wall. The rugs bunch up and ultimately shut off the dryer. Anything very heavy causes the same problem. I bought this large washer and dryer so I could wash rugs, quilts, and large items. The print on the front of the machines is so light that it is impossible to read in normal light in our laundry room. The print on the vats for the detergent and other washing aids is impossible to read on each separate compartment. The "fast dry" selection only has "hot" as a heat selection. I don't want to risk drying delicates quickly if "hot" is the only option. The washer shakes everything in the laundry and the dining room when it is on spin. It has been leveled and it still causes terrible vibrations when spinning so I can not use high. I can only select the "Medium" option. It shakes every dish in the cabinet in the next room. The center of gravity is too high since it is placed on the "drawer". The worst problem is that since our home uses a water softner, there is still soap suds left in the washer and in the window at the end of a regular cycle so nearly every load has to put through a rinse and spin cycle after the regular cycle is over. I have decreased the detergent to below the "min" line and I'm still getting left over suds. After I finish using the machine, I wipe it dry and I have quite a time getting all the water out of the rubber-like collar. There are three holes in the bottom and there must be water in the machine because those holes are never completely dry after I try to dry it out. I bought this machine because my research said that it had won several awards. I wonder who tested this model washer before it was put on the market.

Easy to use, does its job well

A serviceman needed to come the day after the plumber did all that he could, and had to pretty much rebuild the entire dryer. Not such a great start. But the washer and dryer have been flawlessly great ever since.
