Amazing wash machine!

My wife and I bought this washer(& dryer) last month.I'm 67 & have owned many washers over the years.The first time my wife used it she said all these years we just thought our clothes were clean,then proceeded to show me the difference between a comforter I had washed with the old washer and the one she just pulled out the new Electrolux,huge difference.Great product with many features I didn't know existed,highly recommend!

First one was broken, but 2nd one works great

First washer delivered to us didn't work and we had to wait a week to get it replaced. You know what it's like for a family of 5 to be without a washer for a week? Could have been 5 stars, but got 4 for the major inconvenience. The replacement works great. Quiet, many wash options which suit our needs.

Vibrates

While washing a load of sheets my washer was vibrating/shaking too much. I had a repair man trying to solve a problem with the matching gas dryer. He agreed it should not vibrate, we both felt the floor shake. The dryer already needs a new electric board and it's only 1 week old. I will probably be returning it.

Oh no, Marcy! Based on your description, it sounds like the shipping support bolts may not have been removed when the washer was installed. You can easily find the shipping bolt removal on page 8 of your Installation Instructions. (Installation Instructions can be found on our website here as well: http://www.electroluxappliances.com/Washers-Dryers/Washing-Machines/Washing-Machine/EFLS617STT/ ) Also, I see that you were washing sheets. As any mom will tell you, the mountain of laundry in your home secretly grows and grows to the point when you can't quite figure out what happened. Our old washer, just wasn't up to the task. I needed something bigger to fit in more of our many dirty clothes, as well as something that worked well and actually got everything clean. Kids make messes, am I right? Anyway, the salesperson at our local appliance store directed us to Electrolux and this newest model. We asked for the best, and they delivered. You delivered! Our clothes are clean. My loads are twice the size they used to be. The features on this washer are amazing. Way to many options to list. Most importantly, there are great ways to get stains out, and I mean really get them out.. Moms can and should rejoice. I've successfully washed stained clothes that I normally would have declared defeat and dumped. And can I just say, it really looks good too. It's just pretty. If you need a new washer for your family, this is the one for you. Guaranteed.

Cleaned the dirtiest the shirt I've ever seen

I love my new 617 washer/dryer pair! HOWEVER, I've really been struggling with the manual. First of all, I can't read the tiny print. Second, there is no explanation of what each stage of the cycle does, so I don't know what to expect. Third, I know it's a high efficiency washer but it uses almost no water and I can't figure out if that's normal or if I have a water supply problem! Water doesn't come out of the cascading wash vanes so I don't know what they do or how they enhance the wash. I ended up using the clean washer cycle to get lots of water, then cancelling it and switching to the cycle I wanted. I also can't select the options I want because the machine overrides my choices. Even though I have all of these issues, I love my new machines.

Disappointing

I purchased this to replace a 13 year old front load washer that finally broke. It was promoted as quiet (louder than my old one), fast (only on the fast cycle; a "normal" cycle takes longer; and better cleaning (I used to use cold water wash only and now I'm using warm or hot and don't notice clothes any cleaner. It does have more capacity, but with oly two people, that's not much of an advantage. In addition it's frustrating that the door has so little clearance that a laundry basket won't fit under it. It also scratches easily if you store the baskets on top.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
