Great for cloth diapers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I purchased both the washer and dryer three weeks after having twins. Best decision ever! The amount of laundry in our house has more than doubled with the kiddos but our Electrolux units are keeping up and doing a great job. Even our cloth diapers are turning out great. We love the extra features, like the blood stain removal and extended refresh and would absolutely buy them again!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t find the perfect steam option to really do much. Some of the cycles, when you add in the options, can take up to 3 hours to complete!! Yikes!! That is way too long!!

terrible vibrations

I have been suffering with my Electrolux front loader for 3 years and no one can solve the vibration problem in my 2nd floor laundry room. The whole house shakes with the spin cycles and it makes me crazy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my matching pair Electrolux EFLS617STT washer and dryer ~2 weeks ago as I had moved into a new home where prior owner had taken their washer and dryer with and I did not have a set. While I was never intending on buying an Electrolux I ran into a situation with the opening where the washer would sit, 27" wide washer in a 27.5" opening seems like it would be fine - well a number of the competitors require 1/2-1" clearance on each side while Electrolux requires 0" clearance, remember this if you have a very tight fit to work with.
I have done about a dozen loads of laundry since I bought the units as I have been moving and dirty and clean laundry gets all mixed up, not to mention I wanted to test drive the machines a little bit. These things wash and dry amazingly and get your clothes ultra clean and fresh. Normal cycle times are pretty reasonable (41 mins for casual) but can be drawn out to 2+ hours if you go heavy duty and select all the options. There is the ultra short 15 minute wash which I have not utilized yet, but I can see it coming in handy as there have been some days I have woken up for work and realized I forgot to wash work pants.
Couple downsides:
Soap - It may take a few tries to get the soap ratio correct for your particular soap. I use a few different liquid detergents and filling to the minimum line with a All Free and Clear HE detergent is fine, but filling to minimum line with Gain HE caused a major oversuds situation.
Vibration - This thing can be noisy and vibrate a bit on spin cycle which is the reason I knocked off a star. Yes the installers pulled all the shipping bolts (5 total) and the machine is firmly leveled on a stone tile floor. Most loads of laundry spin out great which just the typical jet engine whirr, however some loads of laundry it just vibrates like mad and that is just on high spin speed, have not utilized max spin speed but I can't imagine that would be much better.
Overall I would very much buy this machine again as Electrolux was really the one of the only machines which could fit (per manufacturer specs) in my awkwardly designed washer enclosure. The vibration I can deal with as all I need to do is close the laundry room door, everything else about the machine is A+.

Very loud, can't run at night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the washer came in with a broken solenoid to the hot water inlet. Once that was fixed, I noticed a loud noise that happened when the drum is turning. I am going to have to record the sound because when a tech came to look at it, it did not make the sound. Also, even without the abnormally loud sound, its' normal sounds are nosier than I had anticipated as well.

Soap Build Up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer 6 weeks ago and within a few weeks we had excessive soap build up within the machine to where it wasn't being rinsed out of the clothes. We had a repair guy come out who told us this was 'per specification'. The only way to solve the problem is to make sure we use 1/2 the amount of recommended He detergent and run a separate rinse cycle after each and every load. And then, after around 10 loads, we need to run a Clean Washer cycle.

Hey NotAFan, I can definitely understand your frustration. HE soaps are specially formulated with suds suppressors, which prevent the machine from over-sudsing. Excessive suds may cause the washer to run at a reduced spin speed (resulting in very wet loads), and may also increase cycle time due to an increase in rinses trying to eliminate the suds. For best results use the system clean cycle once a month; for preventive maintenance, you may use one cup of liquid chlorine bleach or one pouch of Tide® Washing Machine Cleaner. Immediately follow up with a rinse and spin cycle. I hope this helps!
