Wrinkles and complicated menu panel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this Electrolux dryer to repace a 15 year old dryer. We've been unhappy with the new Electrolux machine since day 1. The "normal" drying selection leaves clothes damp; the next level is "high" and that leaves clothes somewhat wrinkled. The steam function doesn't seem to help. When the drying cycle is done, the clothes sit in the bottom of the dryer (the old dryer would fluff the clothes every few minutes after the end of the drying cycle to prevent wrinkling). The operating panel on the front of the machine should be backlit or have better contrast to facilitate easier viewing. We're stuck with this dryer now, but wish we had our old dryer back (in working order, of course!).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great cleaning, sub-par reliability

18 months old and we've had 3 poor issues with this unit.
We're now replacing our SECOND main control panel, which just seemingly malfunctions for no reason. Last time, it was a single mode that malfunctioned. It took 3 repair visits to finally fix it. At least the rest of the modes worked.
This time, it will not start, or correctly show mode times. It's shot. We'll be without a dryer for at least a week, which is way too long.
Also, even if you clean the lint filters, some still falls into the dryer housing itself. This causes to the dryer to overwork and the drum knocks. Repair company told us to call every 6 months to have it cleaned out.
Absolutely SKIP THIS MACHINE. Oh and I've had issues with the washer too. It's a shame.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Electrolux EFME617 dryer is only average

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the Electrolux EFME617 and matching washer to replace a pair of 12 year old Bosch Nexxt 700 appliances that were dying. The Electrolux dryer is okay, no great things to say about it. It takes longer to dry clothes than the Bosch did, the control panel is difficult to see and the lint filter has a felt gasket on it that is nearly impossible to clean. The Electrolux does dry the clothes and the interior light is very handy..
I would recommend this to a friend!
