Ohio has very hard water, some granular detergents can combine with hard water minerals and form a residue. Try increasing the water temperature using the hottest water safe for the fabric. Use liquid detergent or use a non-precipitating water conditioner with powder detergent. Here are some tips to combat unwanted scents. Perform a clean washer cycle once a month as recommended. At the end of each wash load, dry inside of gasket fold with clean, dry towel all around gasket. Use only HE (high efficiency) detergent in the recommended dosage (adjust for hard water). Remove wash load immediately upon cycle completion. Pour one cup liquid chlorine bleach in standpipe; let remain a day and flush with water. Utilize the door stand ventilation feature for a few hours after use or whenever washer is not in use. Make sure your water supply faucet is completely open. Water pressure must be at least 30 psi. Check your water inlet hose to make sure there are no kinks and that the screen is not plugged with debris. Double check the height of the drain hose standpipe, it should be at least 23.6” (60 cm).
