First one ran out prematurely...had to buy more

The first replacement cartridge I bought started running out after about 500 sheets (It should have lasted 1000) so I had to replace it, thus spending 50% more than I should have. I regret buying this printer (HP 175nw)

I appreciate the ease of installing a new cartridge. As a single user who doesn't install often, I find the little You-Tube videos helpful.
The packages are so tight I ruined the first one so cannot return for recycle. I plan to take the used cartridges to a place here which recycles.
