This device has got everything a smartphone user asks for! It has a great operating system, software design, hardware design, and good performance. It does most of the basic things within its purpose! Some amazing features on the Galaxy S5 include the HD playback, fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, 4k recording/great camera quality, and the ability to use almost any app! I would definitely recommend this phone to any starter and professional user!
Next to the "Motorola Razor", the Samsung Galaxy S5 Has Always been my favorite phone...My previous one, from AT&T, right up until it "Gave Up The Ghost" was an EXCELLENT product. However, trying to "replicate" that experience with THIS one, the Galaxy S5 (Verizon) model was a miserable FAILURE. Although purchased "New , Unused & Sealed" and without ANY cosmetic imperfections, the phone itself was USELESS. Starting with "Speaker Quality"... It Was Horrible! And it didn't matter if you were using the "Phone Speaker" right up to your ear, OR, the "Speaker Phone"... neither I, or callers could hear me acceptably. I Didn't even to bother to check on using a "wireless" headset or earphones... NOBODY uses those each and EVERY time you make a call. Starting with "Speaker Quality", I stopped using this "New" phone on the Very First Day.
My Second, and VERY important issue with this phone... was when I purchased it (On EBay), It wasn't "disclosed" that this phone was in fact going to be a "Verizon Unlocked Phone". Yes, it did in fact accept my "Sim Card" for T-Mobile and Power-up. What it WON'T due, is allow "Complete Updates" for the GSM System and Network... you are forever "stuck" with the GDMA network updates, AND Operating Software, along with their limitations. Had this phone been an "Actual" AT&T or T-Mobile phone it would have been possible to upgrade the software to "Nugent 7.0" and not FOREVER be stuck with either Lollipop or the Marshmallow operating system. Having said that, I MAY, have been satisfied with the "Updates", and "Lived" with them... I was NOT however able to use a phone with such POOR sound quality to the point neither I, or a caller could understand each other.
Fortunately, through EBay, I Was Refunded My Full Purchase Price, Including Shipping AND Got To Keep The Phone... Even though I will NEVER use it and wound up purchasing a "New" phone from T-Mobile.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality, sound and software upgrades
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I think one of the best features is the split screen because you can have two apps open. It is really handy for people such as myself with terrible memory having to submit a validation code for something or taking some sort of notes.
I took my Galaxy S5 on my trip to Germany and it performed very well. The camera took some stunning, high-res pictures, and it's durability was incredible. One particular moment that made this phone amazing was its survivability in the Bavarian Alps. I just got done climbing a side of a mountain when I laid down to relax after an epic climb and my phone fell out of my pocket. Not knowing that my phone fell out of my pocket, I walked back to our youth hostel and realized later that night that my phone was missing and was nowhere to be found. After a long night of backtracking my steps, my friends and I came to the consensus that my phone was in the Alps...alone...cold. My friend later recalled me laying down in the tall grass and I was hoping that it was there the next morning, if it was there at all. We woke up the next morning around 5 a.m. (some true friends) to go look for my missing phone on little hope of finding it. After a 10 minute hike to the location to the place where the phone was supposedly dropped, we had found it on it's face in the ground, covered in clay and soaked in morning dew, I pressed the power button (thinking it had turned off) and the display lit up like normal. All of the functions were still working and the performance was still faster than ever. I was amazed to say the least! I expected the phone to be broken and or water damaged, but no, just had to wipe off the screen and it was ready to go again. This phone is truly amazing! Don't worry Samsung, I gave already tested it and this phone is Alps Approved (C).
