Awesome performance, missing key features

To start, the performance of the phone is indeed optimal and very impressive, as most all higher end phones are today. Multitasking is very smooth and I never notice any freezing or lagging when running several apps at once. Playing games is also very impressive and the display is stunning. Having that said, the screen is a little too big for my personal preference. The phone does support a one handed operation mode, but at the cost of visiblity. Of course you have trade offs between ios and Android, as I found it difficult to emulate some of ios integrated features like imessage and icloud. There are workarounds, but not for the average user. The fingerprint scanner is functional but not ideal. It's very difficult to use with only one hand and even with two, it is a challenge. Camera is awesome front and back but requires some tweaks to achieve an easy snap. Overall the phone is a great phone but maybe a little overpriced.

As an overall experience the phone was alright in terms of making calls and accessing the internet. But the build quality of it is not what one should be paying for, instead it feels like one is paying for a mid-tier, if not, a lower range Samsung phone. The software experience is also not all that pleasing. The touchwiz interface is very un-appealing and it feels very cluttered. Sometimes, or well actually most of the times the smooth transitions of the phone will lag very noticeably, even though the phone has very powerful processor that should normally not contain any lag. There are also too many unwanted pre-installed apps that should really not even be on the phone in the first place. Samsung should let the buyer completely uninstall the apps if one chooses to. As a final note, the screen quality is excellent, having a higher resolution than my other phone, which is an iPhone. The camera takes very vibrant pictures and videos, an area where Samsung tends to dominate the market in. Battery life is better than most, allowing me to surf the web and watch videos for at least 4 hours. The phone is good, but simply does not feel like it should have been the type of phone to compete with other rival phone companies, who offer a better build quality and software experience for an equal price.

I am still learning how to use this phone but so far I am very pleased.. it is user friendly. and I love it. I have had no problems with this phone so far and I have been going through phones like crazy hear lately . it has great features, some I am still trying to learn how to use.

I upgraded from the S3 to the S5 and I couldn't be happier. So far the phone is exceeding my expectations and I'm having fun learning about the new features of this model.

When my husband and I came from an overseas assignment we were unsure of what mobile service to go with. However, the uncertainty was shortly lived when we came across Verizon Wireless. Before heading overseas I was a Tmobile customer, but Verizon had changed my mind. They were easy to set up and provided great customer service. I had a Galaxy 2 with Tmobile before leaving the states so I already had an idea what type of phone I wanted to go with. I had an iphone the past 4 years and wasn't impressed with it, so when verizon presented a deal to us for the Samsung Galaxy S5 we were sold. I like the big screen, how the camera and processor works. It is like having a mini computer at your finger tips. I prefer the android based phones than any of the other programs. The charge holds great as well. I always found myself having to charge my iphone numerous times a day and it would shut off with having 40% battery life left. I don't have that problem with this phone. You are able to download apps, email, dial out phone numbers, text at a great speed. The phone was inexpensive in my opinion probably because it is a few years old, but that did not matter to us. It has a bright display that can be adjusted and realistic colors that come through the screen. All in all I am very happy with this phone and I would suggest anyone getting this phone if any of these qualities is what they are looking for.
