All the smart features are fine but Samsung forgot they were making a phone. Its hard to hear the people your talking to and I've been told by every person I've talked to that they cant hear me very well. If I had known this I would have chosen another phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I do like the phone, but there have been some speed bumps along the way. This phone is just as intuitive as the iPhone, so that wasn't really the issue. The issues that I am experiencing are with the headphones. They do not work consistently. I don't know if it's a poor design, but I miss my iPhone headphones. The commands work 30% of the time, otherwise I have to pull my phone out and manually open it to change a song. It's not the biggest deal, but a nuisance nonetheless; especially when I'm biking or doing something athletic. I grew accustomed to the ease of having controls on the cord, and I wish it worked the way it was supposed to. I even got new headphones, but alas the same results. Sometimes it also lowers the volume all the way down without giving it the demand, and if I want to turn it back up, I have to unplug and re-plug in the headphones; I can't even manually turn it back up when this happens.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, camera
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I got the S5 16 days ago, and I am already on my 2nd phone. 1st one started to freeze up when trying to unlock it, camera was horrible. Ended up downloading another one. Since you now have to buy the phone with cell companies, buyer beware! Crossimg my fingers I dont end up with another phone in two weeks........
Cons: was not inexpensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Absolutely Stunning

Honestly, I love this phone!!! The AMOLED screen definitely beats the iPhone's retina display, plus the Galaxy s5 has a bigger screen. If you're someone who loves taking photos and capturing special moments in high depth, then this phone is for you. I love the fact that there's still so much to learn about the Galaxy s5 like, the basics and secret features. Some things this phone I didn't even know a phone could do. This is truly a SMARTphone. Kudos Samsung the Galaxy s5 is simply AMAZING.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, great battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Small annoyances ruin a great product

Right up front let me say I haven't studied the manual, so my complaints may already be addressed, but the solutions aren't obvious, and they should be. Reading through some on-line forums indicates I'm not alone. First, the mostly-good: 1) Display is awesome, perhaps a touch too large. I have always kept my cellphone in my shirt pocket, and can no longer do that with some shirts. Doesn't react well to ambient light when in "Auto" mode -- too bright in the dark, not bright enough in bright sunlight. 2) Performance is worlds better than my old phone, which became unusable. 3) The "close all" function is great. 4) Excellent camera, but very hard to hold the phone steady enough to produce sharp images, particularly at very close range. It's almost too light. 5) So far, immune to moisture and dust -- important when you're working in harsh environments and sweating like a pig. Should come with a couple of replacement dustcovers. And the mostly-bad: 1) Way too much manufacturer and carrier garbageware that can't be uninstalled. 2) The majority of time I turn on the phone, the volume is near zero -- I've missed innumerable calls and texts because I never heard it ring. Possibly because of the placement of the volume controls and the on-off switch, since the natural grip has the on-off button opposed to the "down" side of the volume rocker -- an unforgiveable design flaw. Just turned it on now, and the volume was at one dot above zero. 3) It's unnecessarily complicated to turn off ALL sounds, as you commonly want to do when in a meeting where you don't want to bother the world when an alarm goes off. "Mute" does NOT mute everything, as one might expect. 4) Speaker is tinny -- can't understand many female callers, although this may be largely blamed on my ears. Will try the earbuds, but don't want to have to carry them. 5) Would like a larger keypad to enter unlock code; in a similar vein, would like alarm "snooze" and "turn off" buttons to occupy a half-screen each, and react to a tap, not a swipe, if the phone is unlocked. 6) No way to reveal passwords under all circumstances. Especially when entering a long, complex password, I would love to be able to watch my progress. And I would love to be able to see all stored (e.g., network) passwords in clear text.
It's potentially a great phone, but it's annoying enough that I will be looking at alternatives, termination fees or not.
Pros: feature-rich
Cons: features are hard to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

i love this phone. it does everything I need it to. fast and accurate
Recently the motherboard on my laptop died. I depend on it and my phone to keep me in touch with customers on a daily basis. I was able to do all the things I needed with my Samsung Galaxy S5, from reading and sending emails, to the internet as well as phone calls. With my Galaxy S5, I didn't miss a beat.
