Love the phone, except a few set backs

Its a great phone other than the design is terrible. I barely dropped it and broke the screen. I do love the kids mode it was one reason I Bought it, just wish you could disable the home button in kids mode. It is hard to get chargers for it and sometimes when it's plugged in it won't even charge. Its suppose to he waterproof but im afraod to test that theory. But for a person who went through 10 phones in 4 months and I've had this one 6 months I'd say its a good phone! Just fix the glitches, short battery, improve the front camera, and make it more durable and I would keep it till I needed another lol.
Pros: Bright display, kids mode, nice rear camera
Cons: Not high def, poor front camera, battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product for work and fun. But...

I Love this product. I love the performance, appearance, ease of use. Yes... I was concerned about it being complicated. It's not - just need to dedicate time to learn how to use it. It's important to do this since the computing power of this machine is impressive. I do have one complaint: it would be helpful to be able to use apps while the screen is locked. In addition (and like) the camera, I use the calculator a lot and would like to be able to access it quickly without unlocking. Hopefully Samsung will consider modifying the OS to allow it.

I am definitely happy to have this phone. Security features (with fingerprint swipe), and the ability to handle my active lifestyle have made this phone essential with all my needs and all the activities I have going on daily.

Mostly happy but....

My wife has had several iPhones while I stayed with my old "dumb" flip phone. I finally decided to move up to a smart phone. Reading the generally positive reviews and not wanting to be "stuck" in the iCloud world I chose the GS5. Since I'm new to smart phones I may not be the best source of wisdom on what constitutes a great smart phone but I can easily recognize flaws and bugs in one. And my GS5 has one.
I was looking forward to using 4G LTE to access the Internet while away from home. I'm not a big data user but I sometimes need quick access to acquire important time sensitive data online. I enjoyed a reliable 4G LTE hookup for about two weeks and then the phone suddenly downshifted to 3G even in areas where 4G is known to exist. I went online and found others are having the same problem even across different carriers. That indicates to me the problem is somewhere in this phone.
I followed a long list of troubleshooting steps suggested by my carrier (Verizon) and none have fixed the phone's inability to connect to 4G. I don't know what percentage of Samsung GS5 phones are affected with this problem. As far as I know, there is no solution yet to correct the problem. Perhaps most owners are doing well but this one problem is a disappointment to me and for that reason I can't fully recommend this phone.

Cons: won't connect to 4g
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The best screen of any phone

The S5 screen is by far the best performing screen of any phone. If it had better microphones and speakers I would give this phone a full 5 stars. Cannot use a case like lifeproof with this phone or nobody will be able to hear you. I sell audio equipment so usually have a speaker with me to connect to, but for those times I don't or just want the speaker phone capability to be louder I would like better sound quality and more volume.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: speakers, mic placement

over all the phone is a great product. unfortunately, the battery life is bad. had the phone 6 months and it will not last a day. reset to factory setting and will see if that helps. will let you know how it works.

I really love my Samsung Galaxy 5S!! The features are AWESOME!! I have NEVER seen or taken better pictures, even with my great digital camera! I would love it more if Sprint would take action and get their stuff fixed and going! 2 years ago I had no problems at all with my Sprint service, in fact, when we were place like the river playing on the 4 wheelers, razors and sand buggies, I was the ONLY one that could get phone service out of the whole bunch there and that was with Sprint!! NOW, I'm the ONLY one that CAN'T get any service at all down there!! BUT, I LOVE MY GALAXY 5S!! :)
