Quieter, more efficient, purchase of the year.

Dehumidifier. That's all you need to know if you live in a hot, humid area. Press that button and it turns your room into an oasis of cooler, drier air. I haven't run the air conditioner since discovering dehumidifier mode, it drops the temperature significantly without additional assistance. No more sweating from every pore. That's why this is my purchase of the year. It brought relief to a grouchy and uncomfortable household. I get to be the hero. I get to say yes, t'was I who brought awesome to this house of young and old. It makes me happy to see you all so very comfortable. Since you're here, check this out - the air conditioner, it isn't even on - do you see the temperature? Have you been outside? Humidity! I'm telling you, don't sweat it, hehehe, it's like (air quotes) Whynter in here. Get it? They don't get it, there's no branding. Whatever, someone on the Internet will appreciate that zinger.
Meanwhile, installation was a challenge with my 46" tall sliding windows, but enough foam window seal was included for an entire side. All I needed was a taller extension and something to block the gap so I fashioned it out of a scrap of wood, some construction tape, and cardboard. I am the $0 hero in our rental home.
The air conditioner feature works well too. It's much quieter than I expected. There is a distinct but barely audible whine when it's running. It's not unpleasant, just there.

I started the first dedicated residential emergency air conditioning service in Arizona. After extensive research we selected Whynter products. One of our selling points how quiet they run. Perfect for a bedroom. One exception to the square footage rule, the height of the ceiling will affect how many Sq ft can realistically be cooled. With 12' ceilings it's around 400. In our 3rd season these units have worked like champs with most running continually for 3 months or more. Because of the durability and engineering I will continue to supply Whynter products to my customers. Thank you Whynter for helping to make Specialized Air Services what it is.
