You must open the tank valve very slowly or else the government required safety valve built into the regulator will trigger and stop the flow of propane to the BBQ.

This is the correct regulator assembly for the Coleman Roadtrip grill, if it is missing the “small bottle” propane feed. The finger nut firmly seats to the grill units gas fitting, and the bend correctly positions the small propane bottle to fit in the wire bottle support.

My grill was used once and stopped working. I couldn't hear the hiss of gas so I used my friend's regulator and it worked, so I ordered a new one. Grill doesn't work with the new one. Might not be the regulator, but who can tell. Might be cheaper to replace the whole grill.
