Less then 2 months, ice machine broken

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently updated all 4 appliances within a year, all LG. Three of the four have had service work on from August to yesterday.
First my LG microwave, the clock does not display, LG claims after three repair attempts that the clock no longer stays on this model.
The range I bought, two ovens, didn't work from the day it was delivered, thankfully the company I bought it from just replaced it, new range works great.
Now my fridge I have looked at, and my husband gifted me with, the beautiful door in door side by side, that I thought was an awesome fridge, it was until November 5th when I removed the ice container to dump it out for a cooler, since then it has not worked, 3 repair visits, two months later, new parts, still is not working. 3 of my 4 appliances that I bought from LG in less than a year have all had problems. Come Monday, LG will be having a very interesting phone call from me, going to give my repair guy an opportunity to visit with them first. When you pay for a premium price for nice appliances, they should work, end of story.
I will be posting this on the range and microwave too. Knock on wood, my dishwasher works great. If you buy this product, make sure to purchase an extended warranty on it, and trade it before warranty is up, or you will have costly repairs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we are very happy with the product . it works great love the 3 doors and the small door for your quick items (milk, drinks etc. ) is great the ice maker is really handy as well as the water outlet. you always have cold water. the unit looks great in our kitchen and we get compliments all the time about how good it looks .

door in door never shuts properly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought this about 9 months ago and from day 1 the door in door has to be slammed hard to get it to shut, numerous times it has not shut properly and items in door got warm. Was told it would loosen up in a few months but here we are 9 months later and still have to slam door. there is no alarm on this door so you do not have a warning like on the other two doors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New door in door black stainless

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge has so much room I am having a hard time filling it :) The door in door feature saves letting all the cold air out and the item is right there for a quick take. The one thing I don't like is the spacing of the shelves. I can't fit a gallon of milk on the shelve without losing a full shelve. My husband has to have his milk cold which he claims doesn't happen in the door.

When my wife and I readied for retirement we planned to immediately redo the house and replace all furniture and appliances. Our reasoning was to not have to go into retirement with concerns over major appliances breaking down and becoming an unexpected expense. We had a nice fridge but since it was near 10 years old we decided to replace it too. It had served us well. Now I had really liked this fridge by LG as I often shopped in the big supply stores and would pass by this style often. In fact, I have come to like the LG brand. Our 65" TV is LG, Our dishwasher is LG. Our cell phones have been LG since the G2, all the way up to the LG V60 ThinQ. So you can imagine my disappointment when our fridge failed after just 4 years and we also lost some 'Covid-19 stash'. But the lost food paled in comparison to the loss felt in confidence in LG. Turns out there was a poor quality part used in the production and a denial on the part of LG to the point that it took a lawsuit to get them to own their poor choices. In this day and age that's just not right. I gave 3 stars because they are standing by their product and have already replaced the compressor but that doesn't mean we'll be replacing this fridge with another LG. It's the once bitten twice shy syndrome. I suppose it will come down to how well this 'repair' holds up over time. If we only get another 4 years before this one breaks down also then I will definitely look elsewhere. But I don't think my confidence is misplaced. I know LG can learn from this.

Love the Refrigerator but...

There have been several times we have come home to discover the door was not closed and the refrigerator was filled with moisture. An alarm would be helpful since the other two doors have one.

Love the door in the door feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We put this in our new home along with some other LG appliances. I love the alarm feature when the door is left open. I agree with another reviewer's comment that it would be nice to have an alarm on the door in the door. We keep all of our condiments in the door in the door, which frees up lots of space in the fridge! Also, fingerprints don't show as bad, and they're easy to wipe away.
