Big Disappointment

The exterior finish scratches easy, the water dispenser squirts water out everywhere and is a poor design, plus the ice machine was the first thing to go out. We have had to track down the part and so far have been unsuccessful. VERY UNHAPPY.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What attracted us was the size, solid feel of door shelves and drawers, and compact ice maker. My husband finds the instruction manual helpful on how to prepare the ice maker when we go on vacation. Other peoples' reviews helped us adapt (properly positioning water glass, wiping front doors, etc.). We like the "door open" tune (same tune on my washer) and the fridge is quiet.

Good size for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time buyer of an LG refrigerator. Have a small kitchen so didn't have room for a larger refrigerator and decided to get model LSXS26336S. The fridge works fine, but there are certain items that need improving, such as the nonmagnetic stainless steel material which dents, scratches and stains VERY easy. Practical areas like the "Dairy Corner" (the butter/egg/cheese compartment) lid that will not stay open so one can take the eggs out without having to hold the lid with one hand and getting the carton out with the other ( and keeping the fridge door steady...). The digital controls are OK, the arrangement of the buttons is logical but the housing should have a deeper tray to catch the splashing water and ice that for some reason always keeps missing the glass... The water dispenser "paddle" seems to be not well calibrated it doesn't stop providing water immediately you release it, letting the water fall into the shallow tray. These are small things that should not occur at this entry level of technology, and should be fixed in this model.

Also the water dispenser stream is at an angle. I wish someone would have mentioned this, I may have considered another brand.

FAILURE of entire frdg/fr after a yr -100% fd loss

26 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator -manufactured 2018.06 (total failure occurred on 1/22/2020). The freezer/fridge lights were on but not freezing. I didn't realize the total loss of this refrigerator until the early morning of 1/24 when I checked on it and realized regardless of the settings there is no freezing or cooling. The first indication was water dripping on the floor from the ice maker. I thought either my 9 year old or myself accidentally turned the freezer off. In any case - I have a total loss of freezer and refrigerator food.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not so thrilled

I wish I could say something positive regarding our purchase on 11/22/18. I’d noticed after a few days when it was delivered and setup the door gasket not probably sealed causing condensation, but due to purchasing our new home and the birth of our son I had too much going on to make it a priority. I tried troubleshooting using the suggested tips but no success. The recommend temperature is either too cold or not cold enough. Needless to say you’d expect when you purchase a quality item like LG you’d expect this to happen years from now, not at first purchase.
