My wife and I are very pleased with this device. Not only does it make cooking a fairly elaborate dinner much easier than it had been, it makes cleanup far easier too.
So far, we have used it several times, making the walnut chocolate cake and the beef stew (the best beef stew I have ever had). We have served dinner to some friends and they were all impressed with the results.
We used the recipes contained in the included recipe booklet.
And here is my only 'complaint' - I wish that the recipe book had more recipes! I should hope that Philips makes more recipes available on line and informs owners of same. This would be very helpful as it is somewhat difficult to approximate amounts from other cookbooks.
That aside, this product is an excellent one, one that essentially has no competition of which I'm aware.
I highly recommend it.
Pros: it creates superb meals.
Cons: recipe booklet is sparse; there should be more.

Steam issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cooker is amazing and versatile but it does release wet hot steam from a vent in the lid during certain cooking cycles which simmer liquids such as soup and oatmeal cycles. I have learned to not locate the cooker on kitchen counters with that vent positioned directly underneath the kitchen cabinets during that steaming because the steam deposits significant moisture on the bottom of surfaces that are directly above and not far above the steam vent of the cooker. This could be a possible hazard if there are under-cabinet electric light fixtures there which could become wet.

i turn off my gas for my stove i no longer need it for nothing ..... i lov this soo easy to use .. easy too clean that made me want. to learn to cook ;)..... i said i would never cook until i tried this fast easy and tasty meals better than the restaurants i used to order... ppl that comes to my house love it .. i had to purchase two one 4 my rice and another one for the meat but i dont care its worth every penny

Ruined by cheap plastic part

As with others, the latch that holds the lid broke, rendering the multicooker useless. No replacement parts available anywhere. Shame that Philips choose to save a nickel on a weak piece of plastic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for a single person

Have only had for one week but have already found that it is more than versatile. have made breakfast (oatmeal on delay time) soups, chili, the shrimp dish in the recipe book, steamed rice and chicken after browning chicken. Does not take up a lot of counter space and is very easy to clean. So far I have not found any negative things at all, this is perfect for a single guy like me and can cook for multiple people. Buy this you will be very happy.
Pros: easy to use easy to clean so many ways to cook

I just opened the box and looked over the product and the recipe book. I read impressive reviews and without even using yet, the one big complaint I can already point out, is there are NOT enough recipes! I know we can create our own, but who doesn't love to follow a yummy recipe! Please add more!! and simple ones would be great!

Sleek design, multiple purpose cooker .....very diverse peice of cookware. .....only issue I have is that there aren't enough recipes ...
