poor picture quality

bought this model to replace a DYNEX and was extremely disappointed with the picture quality. Expected more from a Philips. Had to return it for a refund.
Cons: poor picture

will not recieve anything lower than 1080p via HDMI

I use a ps3 with this television. There is an intense static flickering on the television whenever the console outputs anything lower than 1080p (most ps3 games output at 720).
I cannot figure out how to fix this problem, whether it be a defect or laughable design flaw. So far it looks to be a defect considering all I've tried. It seems the television's up-scaling feature is failing to play 480p, 720p, & even 1080i HDMI signals into a 1080p screen. NOT TO MENTION, this tv won't even get a picture with the simple older style 3-plugged video signal (red, white & yellow plugs).
I cannot figure out how to fix this problem, whether it be a defect or laughable design flaw. So far it looks to be a defect considering all I've tried. Pros: good picture for the price, thin & light
Cons: hdmi issues rendering it almost unusable, lack of features, possible severe lack of compatability

This is just the right size for us and works great we love it but today we have a problem with the remote control it has become very hard to get it to work with the tv oops
