I got these a week ago... So far so good! Sounds like I would expect from JBL. As for the auto turn off I just turned my headphone volume up on my laptop and it solved the issue with it not turning back on when I'm playing a video or music.

BIG SOUND in small speakers!

I just bought these today and they are great. I've used a Creative 2.1 for six years and was very satisfied with it. Then i downgraded to a 2.0 and was using Logitech for the last two years which was alright but not great. Went to the store today and tried out JBL and Bose and these surely win.
The auto-off feature has not yet kicked in but all the negative reviews are only about that. It's says it'll go off by itself if it is silent for 3 minutes. It's just trying to save you some power so how can that be bad. Really good score....Awesome Bass for a 2.0.

Great Sound for a compact system! I got these speakers for my desk at work and like the fact that there is not a separate sub-woofer. My office neighbors would not like to hear the thump of a bass. Additionally, I am only allowed to listen to my music at a reasonable level between 9 am and 11 am. ;-)

Full Movie Theater in a compact design

These speakers are absolutely amazing! I received a pair for xmas for use with my laptop which mind you it's suppose to have HD sound and such but it can not even sustain such on high. These speakers however by JBL literally create an almost movie theater vibe where you takem. Not to mentoin on full blast you could easily entertain a huge party

Fantastic Sound and Convenience

I bought these speakers based on the brand name JBL and I must admit, I am not disappointed one bit. I love music and the clarity in which these speaks produce sound is music to my ears. My android and PC are both connected via Bluetooth and to me, the convenience to play my music wireless is worth more than anything.
I will be purchasing the wireless sound bar SB400 next based on my great experience.

JBL – Just the Best Loudspeakers

I bought my first pair of JBL’s in 1977 [Decade 36] and I still have them today. They were re-foamed by an expert in 2003 and they sound as marvelous as ever. These Jembe desktops are much smaller but the sound quality is just as big. Technologically advanced, they turn on and off automatically in response to audio signal [follow the mfr. instructions cited here].The range is full and clear, the base is stunning, the design is unique and the value is self-evident. What else would you expect? They are JBL’s!
Be proud of your speakers. Love your JBL’s . Get these.
