Very poor design

This speaker has an auto turn off feature.
It will turn off automatically if it's silent for a while, but not turn on until there's a big sound output.
I really want to disable this auto-turnoff feature, if you even try it, it's a really boring feature. I hate the design.

Autopower off always kicks in, did not find anyway to turn it off. The Jembe do sound good whenever a sound comes out of them :(

absolute junk. These speakers turn off after only a few minutes in some idiotic 'power saving feature'. I have not found a fix yet for this infuriating 'feature'

Tremendous sound and value for your dollar

Wow, a tremendous pair of computer speakers that are well built, sound great and carry the JBL name. I listen to live concerts on these, video blogs and radio stations. At the very high volumes, low background levels or anything in-between, these speakers always sound great, well balanced, cohesive and composed.
These speakers are very transparent and they simply get out of the way when listening to music. They simply leave you with just the artist and you in the room. You completely forget you are listening to a $50 pair of speakers. It's amazing that you can get such awesome sound for so little money.

Auto -Off feature major flaw!
on December 13, 2014

I bought these speakers because the JBL speakers I used to own were awesome. Unfortunately, these speakers possess a major design flaw which causes them to turn-off in the middle of movies, youtube videos, etc…
Buy something else and do not waste your money on these speakers. Any positive qualities they may have possessed were entirely outweighed by the auto-off sound feature that is not even addressed in the owners manual. Too bad, JBL used to be tp-notch.

The auto on/off feature is based on volume being sent to the speakers. If the volume being sent to the speakers is too low (non-existent), the speakers will automatically shut off.

All you have to do is turn up the volume on the computer so that you are sending more signal to the speakers, and then turn the volume down on the speakers, in order to compensate for the volume change.

Not only will this stop the speakers from shutting off in the middle of usage, but you will also get better sonic quality. For the best sonic quality, your volume control on your computer should be at maximum volume, and all EQ'ing (bass, treble, etc.) should be turned off or set in the middle.

The sound is great- if it would just stay on!! I've gone back to my ancient Logitech speakers from 2001. A shame- total waste of money.
