Too complicated - control panel killed the oven

Whoever designed this made the control panel too complicated - and for some reason requires the time to be set before the oven can be operated. Well, the control panel has always been flaky, losing its settings. Today the panel refuses to accept a time correction, thus rendering the whole oven inoperable. Lunacy. No more Bosch oven for me. Keep it simple people. Who needs to see year, month, date on their oven?

Great oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We updated our kitchen in fall of 2013, purchasing all Bosch appliances. We downsized from double wall oven to single wall oven with built-in microwave above. We have been pleased with size, function, look, etc. We have to reset the year, month, date, time and am/pm every time we lose power even briefly, which happens fairly frequently. That is the only frustration, but with repetition, this is easily done. I've had to learn how to use the convection feature and so far with good results. I've used the self-clean feature once and it worked well. Lots of functions are yet to be tested.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Oven is Wonderful

The design really enhanced our kitchen. The ovens work great, making cooking fun again. Big Christmas dinner gathering a couple of professional chefs in the framily. 10 pound tenderloin cooked to perfection, thanks Alton Brown, Yea Haw!!
One tip for new owners:
We live at 7,400 feet above sea level. In the manual it explains how to permanently set the oven to accommodate for the temperature difference of setting versus actual oven temperature.

Electronic panel limitations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model, similar to the one it replaced (the same, but a dozens years older) includes a clock that defaults back to 2007. This is an expensive oven and after only about a month of use you would think it would be functioning perfectly. Also, when I washed the glass door, water somehow trickled between the glass. I sincerely hope I get some use out of it before it needs to be replaced again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bosch single wall oven
