Decent level 2 Rice Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a decent rice cooker, the size is perfect for a family of 3+. As someone who eats rice on a regular basis a rice cooker is a necessity. The true test when it comes to these kinds of rice cookers is cooking brown rice, or just a different grain from your regular white rice (jasmine, basmati, etc.) since it uses weight to know when to turn it off. Since there isn't a function to select which grain you are cooking it worried me that it would not make brown rice as fluffy and light as it would white rice. This did the job better than most rice cookers of this genre. Normally with rice cookers that use weight to stop the cooking brown rice will still come out a bit hard because it did not get enough cook time, and even when you go back to press the button down, it will automatically pop back up because of the weight. I didn't run into the problem of having to cook the rice a second time so that's a win! It did perfect with my jasmine rice and I look forward to trying to make Spanish rice. I also love that the rice pot, lid, and accessories are top rack dishwasher safe!

Not bad just not entirely what I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first rice cooker I've ever had so I can't really compare it to other rice cookers. I can however compare it to how I've north normally cooked rice which was in a sauce pan. And I will say this is much more convenient than a sauce pan. You simply put in the desired amount of rice using the very handy rice measuring cup that's included and then fill with water up to the appropriate line. You push the button down to start cooking and then when it's done cooking the cooker automatically switches to warm the rice instead of over cooking it. Which is super nice since I have 2 young children and can get quite distracted even while cooking dinner. The rice however is not exactly what I expected. It wasn't quite fluffy enough and even though I measured the rice and liquid perfectly, there was still a decent amount of liquid in it. I ended up turning it back on to cook longer and it finally turned out ok. Not the best rice I've ever had but it was decent rice. And like I said before it was very convenient so that kind of made up for it. Also, it is super nice that this cooker and steam vegetables or make chicken with the rice! I can use it to cook an entire meal and all I have to do is prep it, hit a button and forget about it. That is very nice. And my vegetables turned out perfectly when I steamed them! Overall I give it 4/5 as a rice cooker in general and a 5/5 as a steamer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love how small and compact this rice cooker is. Sits nicely on the counter or can tuck it away under the cabinet. Very easy to use; has 2 settings: cook and warm and cooks rice evenly without burning and even comes with accessories.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach Proctor Silex Rice Cooker has perfected the art of my rice making abilities. Before this rice cooker I would try to cook it on the stovetop and always fail to some extent with it either being undercooked, overcooked, or to much water This is a lifesaver I can now make the perfect batch of rice. This rice cooker has the capacity to make 10 cups of cooked rice or 5 cups uncooked. The cooker will automatically keep your rice at a warm setting when done cooking. The non-stick cooking pot and lid are dishwasher safe making for easy cleanup.

So easy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes cooking rice so easy I dont know why I bother cooking rice on the stove top for so many years.
So simple clean and easy to use.
You just add the rice and water and let it do its thing (and you don't need worry about it overflowing and making a mess and lowering heat etc.) and come back 20 minute later and your fresh fluffy rice is ready.
Easy clean up as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this about a month ago and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't cook rice much but I'm picky about its texture. I did use instant rice in this and that was a mistake. So don't use instant, just regular long grain rice. I am excited to try other things in it as it came with some ideas!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little rice cooker. I'm only cooking for two so it's the prefect size and it doesn't take up much space in the cabinet. Perfect for a small kitchen. It's simple to use. The rice comes out nice and sticky so I'm happy with that and it cooks quickly. Love that it's non stick and easy to clean.

Feels a little lightweight and cheap, but that's also what you expect at this price point. No frills but does the trick! Makes rice a breeze, and I like that it does oatmeal and other grains too
